Position Description
Survivor Justice Center is seeking a Social Media & Communications Manager to implement its communications strategy, messaging and materials for maximum impact. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Center's Development and Communications team and be responsible for managing the Center's social media accounts, creating content for a variety of medium, and overseeing all website maintenance, content, upgrades, and search engine optimization. This position reports to the Director of Development but will also work with other directors and managers at the Center as well as outside consultants, to develop social media strategy, content, and communications messages.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
- Strategize/manage all social media and digital content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X)
- Write, edit, and proof copy for content for website and across social media assets and other platforms
- Assist in the creation of digital materials, making sure the online content reflects the tone, strategy, and messaging of the Center's brand, program, and/or campaign
- Manage social content calendars and campaign timelines
- Collaborate with development team to create fundraising opportunities through social media – influencer/brand partnerships, donor/partner shout outs, and/or testimonial videos
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide pre/post event content to promote/amplify events
- Curate and post short video teasers to drive traffic to long form content
- Collaborate with partner organizations’ social media managers to create cross-promotional opportunities
- Maintain quality control of social pages and verify that information is correct and up to date
- Manage onsite digital and social activities at events, including live tweeting/streaming from events
- Create and design annual Impact Report
- Create content and design monthly newsletter for current and potential donors
- Develop event-specific materials like fliers, postings, or outreach campaigns
- Write (independently and collaboratively) copy for press releases, talking points, public statements, and other communication materials
- Ensure description and messaging about the Center’s work is consistent and aligned with brand guidelines
- Manage photo archive of events
Rebranding
- Work with media consultants to oversee the transition of the Center’s website and social media accounts during rebranding/naming transition
- Implement, monitor and enforce compliance with the Center's brand guidelines
Engagement & Evaluation
- Track insights and data and evaluate channel growth monthly on all of the Center's social accounts/channels
- Engage with social media audience and answer questions in comments or direct messages
- Ensure accessibility of our videos and other content to ESL viewers or hard or hearing audiences
- Strategize opportunities for paid social media ads and boosted posts
Additional
- Adhere to all Survivor Justice Center's policies and procedures and participate in mandatory staff training and meetings
- Other duties as assigned
The Organization
The Survivor Justice Center is a non-profit law firm serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking throughout Los Angeles County. The Center's mission is to secure justice for survivors and empower them to create their own future. The Center's primary practice areas are family law and immigration but we strive to provide clients with holistic legal services and have a growing criminal justice advocacy and appellate practice. The Center serves clients using an integrated legal/social worker service model whereby community advocates work alongside attorneys to provide supportive services such as accompaniment, education, safety planning, and linkages to other service providers as part of the legal team. The Center is committed to a trauma-informed and culturally-responsive workplace and service delivery model.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 per year depending on experience. Survivor Justice Center offers a 35-hour workweek and a comprehensive benefits package that includes: generous paid time off, 100% employer-paid medical, dental, long-term disability and life insurance for employees, a 403b retirement plan with matching, FSA accounts, and a additional supplemental insurance options. The Center is an eligible nonprofit employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
