Overview:
The Senior Vice President, Commercial is an innovative leader bringing strong focus to the top line revenue for ADWEEK, and ADWEEK ancillary products. This includes tentpole events, ADWEEK House, Marketing Vanguard, ADWEEK Awards, ADWEEK Content Studio and ADWEEK Media products across its website, newsletter, video, and audio.
This talented leader will be a strategic thinker, knowing how to collaborate cross-functionally across ADWEEK’s the award-winning editorial, programming, and studio to develop new and innovative commercial solutions that exceed partners expectations and cement the brand as a must-buy in its category. They will be an operational leader, supporting building the budget and forecast in conjunction with Finance, and will hold teams accountable to hit their respective goals The SVP, Commercial will be a public face to the current and future ADWEEK partners, actively growing existing accounts and continuously develop and move new prospects up the pipeline side-by-side with the Client Partnerships leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Motivate, train and coach the performance of multi-platform, Client Partnerships Executives on a day-to-day basis maximizing revenue for all products and supporting prioritization of key initiatives
- Develop and maintain a superior rapport with brand clients, advertising agencies and key accounts
- Development, ownership and execution of a target account business strategy
- Strategic implementation plan for digital, print, and event sponsorships
- Cultivate and project a positive, highly visible image for the company in the community
- Develop and maintain a consistent promotional approach to selling all of ADWEEK’s products, in partnership with the Sales Marketing Director
- Lead operational excellence- ensuring best practices are adopted to maximize impact of tools and reporting, while finding ways to reduce friction
- Own the preparation of detailed weekly and monthly sales activity and production reports
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in the advertising/media industry, with a focus on selling and growing branded content, sponsorships, events, and/ or content/brand partnership businesses.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Goal driven with the ability to change and adapt to new opportunities
- Entrepreneurial and with a professionally aggressive growth mindset
- Conscientious and energetic
- Ability to work independently as well as with teams
- Strong attention to detail (comfortable developing and maintaining revenue financials, pipeline and prospecting reports)
- Ability to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines on time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Energetic brainstormer full of ideas able to be executed
- Proven excellence in multi-media sales
- Expert knowledge of and engagement within the media industry and community
- Willingness to learn and adopt new industry innovations
