Job Description:
Dentu's Creative Editorial Content Team is seeking an organized Temporary Managing Editor to support editorial work across platforms (digital, newsletter, print).
Who is a great fit for this role? A person who's comfortable working with clients and thinking through big ideas while also enter copy changes, write headlines and decks, and jump-in. Among other things you will:
- Be excited about storytelling across platforms and sectors, whether that's in long-form articles or bite-sized web copy.
- Work cross-departmentally to create production calendars for client-facing projects, maintain daily deadlines, and run production meetings.
- Oversee the fact-checking process and enforcing the team style guide.
- Make editorial assignments, edit copy written by staff and freelancers, and be a rock-solid writer able to produce everything from compelling ad copy to longform articles and features.
- Attend client meetings to understand client goals and feedback.
Qualifications
- 5+ years magazine, editorial, or managing editor experience
- Editorial (grammar, spelling, proofing, copyediting) and reporting skills and maintain a specific style based on a style guide.
- Experience working with art and design teams to create compelling treatments for print and digital content.
- Ability and interest in finding ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Experience working in an agency environment.
- Knowledge of InDesign or Asana and Workfront project management systems.
Hourly Non-Exempt Employee.
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is $41.13-$71.65 per hour. Hourly pay is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Temporary employees are eligible for paid holidays as outlined on the dentsu 2024 holiday schedule, in addition to accrued safe and sick time.
This is a temporary, W2 role on dentsu payroll.
