Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing client that is looking to add an Applications Engineer to their team. This position focuses on designing and developing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to meet customer needs. It involves a balance of technical expertise and customer engagement, leveraging creativity and precision to transform client requirements into innovative manufacturing systems.
Applications Engineer Responsibilities
- Concept Development: Create and refine concept designs aligned with client goals, enabling seamless project advancement and accurate cost estimation.
- Component Research & Specification: Identify and recommend optimal components for initial designs, ensuring solutions are cost-effective and practical.
- Client Engagement: Present machine capabilities and company strengths to customers, fostering trust and supporting sales efforts.
- Risk & Cost Assessment: Evaluate project risks and collaborate on developing competitive pricing strategies.
- Requirement Validation: Review, negotiate, and finalize client-provided User Requirement Specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
- Design Evaluation: Analyze designs for functionality, safety, and aesthetics to ensure they meet technical and customer standards.
- Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical contact for clients during the quotation process and throughout production.
- Collaboration with Sales: Work closely with the Sales Team, participating in presentations and customer visits to strengthen relationships and drive sales.
- Trade Shows & Outreach: Represent the company at trade shows and customer visits, contributing to business development and market visibility.
Applications Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in automation or related industries.
- Familiarity with converting, coating, or automation machinery is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CAD design software.
- Strong skills in planning, scheduling, and problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of current industry standards and technical advancements.
