As a Senior Account Executive, you are the primary day-to-day contact on your accounts with account coordinator support. You are learning how to manage others in this role, and look to balance account services within mentorship of your junior team members. As an SAE, you are accountable for the overall execution of the client initiatives with strategic direction and counsel from senior management.
Note: While we do work from home two days a week, candidates must be located in St. Louis, Missouri area.
Experience:
- 3-4 years experience, preferably in hospitality public relations and required agency experience
- Works on 6-8 accounts
- Gain experience managing support team
- Salary range $60K-$80K
Client Services:
- Handles 70% of the client communications (both in email and presenting) while advising AC on 30% of other comms
- You are still seen as the primary day-to-day account lead
- Ensures client deadlines are met and maintains communication protocols (24-hour response to clients and media
- Works closely with Account Director(s), Account Supervisors to develop strategies to meet client goals
- You are responsible for the execution of all initiatives in client strategic plans
- Upwardly communicates with senior leadership when client issues arise
Team Management:
- Holds AC accountable for responsibilities and tasks and delegates appropriately; helps build their to-dos, deadlines, and deliverables
- Ensures effectiveness of team's work product (strong editor that ensures thoughtful, creative writing that lands and is also aligned with format and grammar)
- Creates and advises ACs on-brand marketing needs for client (newsletter, flyers, social graphics, etc.)
- Advises AC/AE and leads by example of creating thoughtful and thorough influencer and media outreach lists that are exhaustive
- Works with senior manager to ensure you support your team by providing clear expectations and direction
- Seek out opportunities to uplift your team in an authentic way (celebrates wins in front of clients, holds team accountable for continued education, take time to teach while editing, hosts lunch & learns, etc.)
- Shares best practices and industry knowledge across the company
- Leads the team in professionalism and consistency (showing up for the team), while keeping things fun
- Respect the team’s time and bandwidth; we honor the 48-hour turnaround; if we offer to take things off people’s plates, we deliver and review bandwidth before asking for help.
Media Relations:
- Secure national, regional, and local placements on a consistent basis
- Spends 20-40% of time pitching (5-10 hours / week at least)
- Secure 60% of media results for clients (local, regional and national)
- Know the local and national media backwards and forwards
- Be a go-to resource for local and national media
- Secures likeminded partners for programming initiatives
- Begins to transition into a strategic advisory role for clients, offering valuable insights and assistance to aid in their strategic planning and goal achievement.
- Oversees and ensures success of client initiatives and events such as, event curation, partnership alignment, invite list management, on-site attendance, interview facilitation, etc.
- You are responsible for healthy and impactful results every month
Social Media:
- Support Digital Content Creator in monthly ideation by adding ideas to Asana during monthly mapping tasks (usually mid-month)
- Support throughout the month if you see an idea that fits a client
- Schedule press hits within 48 hours on clients’ pages where we manage social as well as share on Jasper Paul's channels
- Seek out and gain knowledge of social media trends and applications for use with clients when appropriate
