Position Overview:We are looking for an entry to mid-level editorial hire to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across all facets of our media and events business, including content creation, digital content and product management, event coordination, and speaker support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalism, strong editing skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Editorial Support: Write, copy edit, and edit articles, profiles, and features for both print and digital platforms, ensuring all content aligns with Worth's editorial standards.
- Website Production: Manage the creation and maintenance of web pages, including event pages, video content, speaker profiles, and redirects. This will involve uploading content, optimizing images, and ensuring SEO best practices.
- Flagship Lists: Assist in compiling and editing the W100, Groundbreaking Women, and Impact 150 lists, which includes sourcing and formatting image assets and writing compelling narratives to accompany these features.
- Newsletter Management: Collaborate on creating weekly newsletters, including Worth Weekly, RIA, Women & Worth, and special issue emails. Ensure the timely delivery of content that resonates with our readers.
- Speaker Communications: Once confirmed, act as speakers' primary point of contact. Manage logistical questions, help prepare speaker packets, and ensure all necessary documents are organized for the internal team.
- Event Coordination: Provide both back-of-house and front-of-house support at marquee events. This includes moderating panels, managing speaker needs during events, and overseeing event logistics.
- Print Issue Preparation: Collect and prepare images and content for print issues, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with magazine themes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Strong Writing and Editing Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with a keen eye for detail. You should have experience writing for both print and digital formats.
- Digital Content Management: Proficient in producing web content and familiar with content management systems (CMS). Experience with image optimization tools such as Canva and Photoshop is a plus.
- Event Experience: Comfortable in event settings and capable of supporting speakers' and participants' logistical and content needs. Moderating experience is a plus.
- Organized and Proactive: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You should be someone who takes initiative and is detail-oriented.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, from editorial to events to digital, ensuring seamless execution across departments.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfort with digital tools, particularly Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Suite. Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
