Our Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Tourism Development and Brand Strategy efforts at PIER 39. The role will focus on shaping our B2B and B2C brand voice helping to ensure we consistently captivate and connect with audiences across multiple platforms. By delivering top notch customer service and an engaging and memorable brand experience on high touch platforms like social media and newsletters, they will help support the department’s overall objective to drive visitation to PIER 39.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tourism Development
- Serve as a key sales ambassador for PIER 39
- Support day-to-day operations of the meal voucher and attractions pass programs
- Develop quarterly newsletter to tour operators and trade contacts
- Liaise with local concierges; keeping them abreast of events, offers available
- Plan and lead FAM (familiarization) trips to PIER 39 & help prepare for meetings and conferences
Brand Strategy
- Serve as the primary brand voice for our company across all social media channels - creating / curating content
- Optimize social media content with marketing & social media trends
- Manage company website and update as needed
- Support Brand Strategy Manager with creation of newsletter and coordination of team calendars
General
- Develop graphics / signage
- Procure special event content
- Provide PIER 39 event support as needed
- Process invoices as needed
You should have:
- 2-4 years of experience in the Marketing and a BA Degree in Business Administration, Communications or other relevant major
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Proficiency in creative editing software (Canva, Capcut, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Ability to translate insights/analytics into content that resonates with consumers
- Natural curiosity about consumers and competitors
- Strong writing skills and ability to curate content
You should be:
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and highly organized
- Able to establish strong working relationships
- Fluent in social media platforms, managing business accounts, analytics
- Experienced in web building programs such as WordPress
- Able to work well under pressure, meet deadline commitments; a multi-task pro
- Available to work evening, weekends and holidays as needed
Rate: $32 - $39 / hour DOE
PIER 39 is a 45-acre waterfront complex that is a gathering place for millions of San Francisco locals and visitors. In addition to its 14 full-service restaurants, 90+ shops and popular attractions, PIER 39 also has a 5-acre waterfront park and a 300-berth marina. PIER 39 is known for its spectacular views of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz Island, and the San Francisco city skyline. PIER 39 is also home to the world-famous California sea lions.
