Description
The School & Library Marketing Associate works with the Senior Director of School & Library Marketing to support and/or oversee S&L marketing efforts, including multiple conferences, securing educational and promotional opportunities for authors (interviews, guest blogs, speaking engagements), awards submissions, regular and special mailings, and overseeing the school and library newsletter.
Job Description
- Responsible for all aspects of exhibits, including either physical booth materials, display and autographing copies, signage and banner or comparable materials for a virtual booth.
- Coordinates staff and author itineraries for conference travel, including detailed hotel and flight information, author engagements, and staffing needs. Liaises with authors and program sponsors regarding program information, logistical requirements, and travel needs and/or coordinates author appearances and scheduling for virtual events.
- Manages S&L newsletter. Plans and creates content to highlight titles and authors in a way that maximizes engagement with target audience.
- Responsible for managing a contact database, including entering, coding and updating data, ensuring the ready retrieval of viable contact lists for a variety of outreach.
- Submit books for national, state and other relevant S&L awards.
- Manages regular galley and advance mailings, as well as industry "big-mouth" promotional mailings. Updates mailing list and galley/advance quantities per season.
- Works in conjunction with marketing design to create, route, and submit promotional materials and ads, as well as posting of website content.
- Tracks all department expenses for budget planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 2 years experience at associate level
- Experience in managing multiple projects with strong prioritization skills
- Copyediting skills a plus
- Attention to detail
- Ability to maintain timelines and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills
Location
All candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area and be able to commute to our NY headquarters on a hybrid-remote schedule.
