Primary purpose: Reporting into the Head of Content, the Editorial Assistant is responsible for providing editorial support across all verticals at Well+Good. A typical day could involve writing a quick news post on a buzzy wellness topic or TikTok trend, helping the beauty editor organize submissions for our annual beauty awards, assisting with the creation of social content, or building content in our CMS.
The position requires strong writing and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have an interest in health and wellness reporting and a desire to learn more about digital publishing. This is a great job for someone who is looking to work across multiple content areas—food, beauty, wellness, health, fitness—and is excited to jump in and help problem solve. You'll be successful in this role if you are dedicated to outstanding content, have great ideas, and want to help us take Well+Good to new heights.
A typical day as the Editorial Assistant might include:
- Providing editorial support to the Head of Content, and other vertical lead editors as needed
- Building articles and content packages in the CMS
- Providing image research assistance to editors as needed
- Brainstorming and pitching as needed across all of Well+Good's verticals
- Writing news and short articles across all verticals
- Providing support as needed to the social media and newsletter teams
- Organizing submissions to our annual franchises, like the beauty awards
- Corresponding with freelancers and answering emails from publicists
Requirements
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and work in a deadline-driven environment
- Top notch written and verbal communication skills
- A keen interest in health and wellness and a general understanding of the current landscape
- A great attitude and desire to learn more about digital publishing
- A passion for high-quality digital content

Compensation:
The starting base pay for this role is $50,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, and other perks.
