JOB TITLE: Marketing Communications Specialist
LOCATION: Fairfax, VA (Hybrid); 2 days onsite/3 remote

The Marketing Communications Specialist develops communications marketing strategies to promote the ITC Federal brand. The position calls for an individual with the soft skills to work and engage with multiple stakeholder groups in a professional and personal manner to complete the activities. They must have the ability to take direction from the CGO and VP, while working with the stakeholder groups to complete varying activities. The individual must also be a true self-starter who has an eye for detail, works independently, and is able to be highly creative. Furthermore, the individual must be able to work on multiple priorities and deadlines weekly to continue to support activities.
Please note, a writing assessment will be administered for this position and the hiring team will request to see both writing and social media/graphic samples.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, revises, and creates sophisticated professional marketing materials for ITC as needed, tailoring them to specific audiences.
- Prepares, proofreads, and edits marketing communication documents that include but are not limited to blog posts, short videos, emails, newsletter/magazine articles, press releases, and social media posts.
- Use WordPress to assist with keeping knowledge articles and websites up to date.
- Work with teams to prepare for vendor and technical conferences, including coordination, logistics, and preparing marketing materials.
- Maintains the content and look and feel of the ITC website, working with vendors and creating contemporary and modern visual graphics to attract customers, teaming partners, and other audiences as directed.
- Works independently and collaboratively with the departments at ITC, primarily in business development and, as needed, recruiting and HR, to support the ITC brand.
- Assumes responsibility for other duties and special projects, as assigned by the CGO.
- Updates and maintains social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram), including the look and feel of the pages, images, and content representing the ITC brand.
- Maintains and expands upon a marketing library and knowledge repository, including articles, photos, and video library, to track ITC’s story and history
- Directs, develops, implements, and facilitates marketing strategies, activities, and policies for ITC Federal.
- This position requires working with the VP to provide quotes and determine the best course of action for marketing campaigns, conferences, social media, and public relations engagement in support of the Business Development Team.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience managing marketing campaigns, content creation, and communications strategies within the government contracting industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or English in a related field.
- Experience with marketing in a government contracting environment.
- Proficient in desktop publishing and design to support the evolution of the ITC brand and website redesign.
- Experience with WordPress and other content development tools like MS Office.
- Proficient with using the following technologies and tools: MS Office 365, Adobe products (Illustrator, Creative, Stock Photos), WordPress
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to support document development and engagement with multiple stakeholder groups, ensuring clarity and alignment with ITC vision and strategy.
- Strong creativity that includes generating innovative concepts to elevate the ITC brand through marketing campaigns and high-quality documents.
- Strong project management skills, providing lead support in managing schedules and deadlines across multiple marketing activities
- Must present skills in maintaining social media to include engagement and management of social media platforms and tools
- Extensive experience working with teams to prepare for vendor and technical conferences, including coordination, logistics, and preparing marketing materials
