Internal Communications Specialist
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and proactive individual to join our Internal Communications team and help support our global internal communications strategy. This role will be pivotal in connecting and engaging employees across the organization to amplify communication efforts.
This role requires superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, as well as experience in event and project management. You possess a deep understanding of evolving communication channels and can work collaboratively within a team. You react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Internal Communications team to amplify global efforts across various channels, maintaining an effective cadence that drives internal enthusiasm, employee engagement, and pride.
- Assist in managing the editorial calendar for internal stories and news, researching, writing, and aligning with external communications when necessary.
- Support internal communications channel strategy and day-to-day implementation, including digital signage, newsletters, and intranet content.
- Oversee content management, ensuring posts are updated, accurate, and compliant with brand guidelines across multiple platforms (emails, video, intranet, digital signage, etc.).
- Develop a variety of creative internal communication deliverables, including newsletter articles, emails, editorial content, presentations, and Q&A to engage and inform employees.
- Conceptualize and research creative internal communication strategies and campaigns while staying updated on industry best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to maximize communication opportunities and amplify successes.
- Use metrics and data insights to evaluate internal communication effectiveness and identify areas for improvement to enhance the user experience.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt your style for different needs and effectively present data.
- Strong speaking skills, with the ability to engage audiences, listen actively, and participate effectively in meetings.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with experience using intranet platforms (e.g., Simpplr, SharePoint) and digital sign management systems. Graphic design or HTML experience is a plus.
- Ability to use channel metrics to guide strategies and provide insights to stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of digital platforms and trends, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Proven ability to work with teams across all levels of the organization and navigate sensitive topics with discretion and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate internal campaigns and events.
- Ability to think innovatively and pivot when necessary to achieve goals.
- A strong enthusiasm for crafting narratives that connect with employees and align with organizational values.
- Excellent at managing multiple streams of information with a flexible, process-oriented approach.
Requirements:
- College degree in social sciences, humanities, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on internal communications.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural, cross-functional environment that values collaboration and diverse perspectives.
- Comfort with experimenting with new communication technologies and maximizing digital content across platforms.
Compensation Range: $36.00/hr - $64.00/hr (W2)
