Manager Title: Director of Development and Communications
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary: The Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Development and Communications with the identification and solicitation of fund development from various sources, including grants and donations. Will write grant proposals and progress reports. May assist the Director with communication and marketing activities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists the Director of Development and Communications to identify, cultivate, encourage, solicit, and recognize foundation and government grants and individual donations
- Writes grant proposals responsive to the needs of PCC Community Wellness Center, as well as prepares reports for general operating and program grants
- Prepares acknowledgment letters for grants and individual contributions received
- Records grant information in database and tracks deadlines for proposals, reports, and other deliverables
- Maintains up-to-date information on donors and prospects, as well as making suggestions for new prospects through research and community engagement
- Generates letters of support for PCC grant-related initiatives at the federal, state and local levels
- Maintains relationships with funders and PCCs finance and program staffs to manage grants throughout the funding period
- May coordinate PCCs involvement in community events and health fairs
- May assist with communications and marketing activities, such as website updates, employee newsletter, and social media
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelors Degree in related field
- 1-3 years experience in grant writing and communications
- Demonstrated writing skills
- Proficient in MS Office Business Applications to include: Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
Physical Demands
- The person holding this position may be required occasionally to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to complete assigned duties and responsibilities
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and computer printer
- Occasionally positions self to maintain exertion of physical strength to move objects of 10 pounds from one level to another
- Must be able to transport from one site to another, throughout the city and suburbs
