Social Media Consultant
The Monkey & The Elephant (M&E) is a non-profit coffee shop operating a transitional employment program for former foster youth. Former foster youth face barriers that challenge their long-term success, including high rates of homelessness, incarceration, unemployment and low educational attainment. Utilizing a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, we mitigate barriers and provide employment related skill development within paid learning opportunities at our café.
We are seeking a Social Media Consultant to help enhance our work across key social media platforms.
Tasks/Duties:
- Manage the content calendar
- Help generate engaging new content ideas to highlight organizational mission
- Create content for social media highlighting the organization, the cafe and our key partnerships weekly
- Manage DM’s on social media platforms
- Create template for monthly newsletter content for non-profit
- Manage the organizational information to create monthly newsletter
- Create monthly ‘square’ marketing for cafe advertisement
- In collaboration with leadership, help create communications with fundraising campaigns
- Fundraising campaigns occur quarterly and are composed of social media posts, mailouts, and community activations, etc.
Skills Needed:
- Well versed in digital platforms such as IG, Linked In, Mailchimp and Square
- Confident with filming and editing
- Self directed and independent
- Open to feedback
- Works well with a variety of people
- Understanding of the foster care system or willingness to gain an understanding.
Time commitment: 20 hours month
Pay: $50/hour ($1000 per month max).
