Overview:
Seeking a creative Senior Manager, Content Marketing to help promote the company’s worldwide small group tours through our website, email, social media, pre-departure documents, and other marketing channels. This challenging position in a small but busy Marketing department calls for an experienced writer with a passion for travel and a way with words to write and edit a range of travel-related copy, as well as supervise two copywriters responsible for our detailed day-by-day tour itineraries, email blasts, social media posts, and more. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s on-line presence by managing our website content, driving our social media strategy, and expanding our email program. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, web and social media savvy, and has the ability through the creation and oversight of our written and digital content to help keep our guests connected, excited, and traveling.
Position Responsibilities:
- Direct, develop, and oversee copywriters responsible for writing compelling travel copy for detailed pre-departure day-by-day itineraries and destination copy, website blog posts and landing pages, email blasts, social media posts, catalogs, and other outlets, as assigned
- Ensure that brand voice and tone, promotional messaging, and content reflects current marketing strategies across marketing channels (catalog, pre-departure documents, web, email, and social media)
- Oversee Pre-departure document schedule, document creation, and ongoing management of materials
- Maintain and enhance Odysseys’ website content for corporate pages, landing pages, and tour pages, including copy, photography, tour information, guest testimonials and photos, and 3rd party content
- Develop quarterly email plan and work with copywriters to execute weekly emails and quarterly e-newsletter with the goal of improving open and click through rates and driving traffic to the website. Utilize email versions to promote content tailored to various audiences (Former travelers and Prospects).
- Drive company’s monthly social media strategy across multiple platforms, including blog, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Generate content ideas/topics/campaigns and collaborate with copywriters on monthly posting schedule with the goal of increasing post engagement and driving traffic to the website. Ensure that posts are engaging, accurate, and on-brand and guest comments/questions are responded to in a timely manner.
- Complete other writing projects as assigned: Chair letters, new tours, video scripts, catalog captions, TD testimonials, and hotels
- Management of Online Reviews/Comments (Yelp, TripAdvisor, Facebook)
- Assist with photo research, acquiring guest and employee travel photos, photo library management, and web media library asset management and metadata
- Create monthly metrics report for email blasts and social media

Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, with significant course work in communications, content management, and marketing
- 7-10 years’ proven experience in a content management position, with emphasis on managing copywriters and managing content used in various marketing channels
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities; capable of engaging and supporting employees in a common purpose to achieve individual and departmental goals
- Excellent writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, alert to priorities and deadlines
- Experience working with analytical tools (Google analytics, social media advertising/analytics, SendGrid)
- A passion for international travel
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, SendGrid Email Platform, Google Analytics, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube Advertising, and SEO
- Familiarity with the travel industry, direct marketing, and print production a plus
