We are looking for an Investor Relations Fellow to join our annual Sunstone 6-month Fellowship Program.
JOB DUTIES
35% - Client Development
- Supports organization's marketing efforts by networking, prospecting, identifying, and building new client relationships.
- Develops and maintains client relationships, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications.
- Engage professionally in person, emails and on the phone to assist with every client need or issue
- Source prospective clients and capitalize on referrals
50% - Client Management/Administrative
- Service new and existing clients and provides operational and administrative support to financial advisors
- Coordinate new account opening process including completing KYC, collecting investor-specific information, obtaining relevant executed documents, entering data into databases, and compliance with regulatory procedures.
- Maintain the CRM system to ensure the database properly reflects the status of each client, prospect, and partnership opportunities.
- Prepare client accounts reports including account holdings and investment performance.
- Maintain investor communication: disbursement of investment related documents (capital call, distribution notices, investor statements and K-1s) and regular updates (event invitation, newsletter, corporate announcement, press release and etc)
- Support marketing events and campaigns to introduce Sunstone ecosystem to different communities.
- Assist in the preparation/translation of marketing materials (tear sheet, pitch deck, newsletter and etc) and offering documents (agreements, LPAs, investor info sheet) in English and Chinese for client engagement.
- Perform other projects and tasks, as assigned.
Qualification:
- Be enrolled in graduate studies in a related field at an accredited university in the US with a completion date no later than June 30th of the Program year
- Be able to work 20 to 30 hours per week
- Ability to work onsite at SMI Headquarters in Irvine, CA
- Superb written and oral communications skills
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong desire to understand the venture capital business, in particular early stage and accelerator investing. Previous professional experience a plus
- Team-orientation and ability to work effectively and cooperatively with both peers and senior professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- An entrepreneurial spirit, with strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism
