Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the growth and visibility of our organization by assisting with various aspects of our development efforts. This role requires a dynamic individual who is skilled in media management, graphic design, content creation, and grant writing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Support:
- Manage and update the organization's social media platforms, creating engaging content in line with brand guidelines to enhance our online presence.
- Design visually appealing graphics using Canva for social media, email campaigns, event promotions, and other marketing materials.
- Assist in the production of the organization's newsletter, ensuring timely distribution and compelling content.
- Event Support:
- Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising/development events, including donor receptions, fundraising galas, and Board-facing events.
- Assist in coordinating event details such as venue setup, guest lists, and promotional materials.
- Support the Marketing & Communications Director in post-event activities, including donor follow-up, writing thank you letters, and reporting.
- Grant Writing Assistance:
- Collaborate with the Development Director to identify and research potential grant opportunities.
- Assist in writing and submitting short or one-off grant applications, ensuring compliance with guidelines and deadlines.
- Maintain organized records of all grant-related activities, including deadlines, submissions, and follow-ups.
- Other Duties as Needed:
- Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Development Director to support the overall mission and goals of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Writing-intensive degrees such as History, English, and Political Science are also welcome.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, Canva, and basic graphic design.
- Strong writing skills, with experience in content creation and grant writing.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits:
- $27 to $32 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
