Position Overview:
As Marketing Manager in a contract position with Retail AI Council, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the organization's success, expanding its reach, and driving its engagement with retailers and retail industry partners. You will manage strategic marketing initiatives to promote the Council’s mission; direct development of the Council’s community platform; and play a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of our events.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in B2B marketing and event planning. A proven track record in leading highly transformative projects and managing small teams and multiple vendors is required. Experience in early-stage startups is a big plus.
This is a contract position for 20 to 40 hours a week. The duration for this role is not set. This role may lead to a permanent employment position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Marketing Operations
- Collaborate with the Council’s Executive Leadership Committee to develop marketing initiatives that attract and retain members, ensuring an engaged community of retailers and industry partners (e.g., solution providers, investment professionals, conference leaders, media partners, academicians, etc.).
- Collaborate with Sales team to develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, messaging, and sales enablement materials to drive engagement and revenue growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling marketing collateral, including blog posts, LinkedIn posts, newsletters, research reports, infographics, and presentations to showcase Retail AI Council's expertise and impact.
- Manage digital marketing channels, including the website, community platform, newsletter, email campaigns, social media, and online advertising, to drive traffic, engagement, and lead generation.
- Manage and develop internal, outsourced, and partner teams to facilitate marketing efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Council members, conference leaders, media partners, and industry influencers to amplify Retail AI Council's presence.
- Analyze and report on marketing metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and optimize marketing strategies for maximum impact.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and keep Retail AI Council at the forefront of the retail AI landscape.
Product Management
- Lead the product lifecycle management process for Retail AI Council's community platform.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, informing product strategy and roadmap prioritization.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to AI in retail, staying informed about market opportunities and threats to inform product strategy and innovation.
- Act as the voice of the users, advocating for user needs and preferences, and ensuring that product decisions are grounded in customer insights and feedback.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define product requirements, features, and specifications based on customer feedback and business objectives.
Event Marketing
- Ideate and manage events and programs that drive sponsorship revenue.
- Coordinate with event organizers and sponsors to ensure seamless execution of Retail AI Council's events, including conferences, workshops, webinars, podcasts, and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Council’s Chief Partner Officer to support the development of partnerships and sponsorships with relevant organizations to expand Retail AI Council's network and resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven management experience in B2B marketing roles within the retail or tech industries, with a strong understanding of B2B marketing strategies and tactics.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns that drive engagement, generate leads, and achieve measurable results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling marketing content and engage with diverse audiences across various channels.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, SEO, LinkedIn, email marketing, and content management systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data, extract insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize marketing performance.
- Strategic mindset and creative thinking, with the ability to develop innovative marketing initiatives that differentiate Retail AI Council in the marketplace.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a very fast-paced, highly unstructured, and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meeting deadlines.
