The Communications Coordinator position is an opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented, and dedicated professional to help Jill’s House design and execute effective communications programs with compelling content across Jill’s House channels, including events, digital channels (web site, blog, email program, and social media), mailings, collateral and giveaways. As part of a collaborative “all-hands-on-deck” team, this role helps deliver surprising and delightful branded touchpoints that invite others to experience the Jill’s House impact. This role is a critical member of the Advancement team that works to attract and steward key constituents (donors, volunteers, families, staff, and others) and motivate them to deeper ministry engagement, attracting vital resources in support of organizational priorities.
What Will You Do?
- Social Media
- Helps manage Jill’s House Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn channels, sharing ministry news, stories, and thought leadership via on-brand posts 3-5 times / week and managing paid Meta programs, in line with ministry goals and in collaboration with third-party partners (e.g., designers, video and social media consultants, etc.).
- Collaborates across Jill’s House teams to capture and gather stories, photography, and video for editing into compelling on-brand posts that are timely and compelling.
- Provides monthly and end-of-year reports of key digital metrics.
- Email Program
- Drafts email program content to keep constituents informed and engaged in line with brand identity, campaign calendar, and ministry goals, including monthly staff newsletter, Jill’s House external newsletter, campaign appeals, and ad hoc announcements.
- Manages email lists, ensuring that new constituents attracted by other channels (donations, events, etc.) are onboarded in a timely manner to appropriate subscriptions.
- Web Site & Blog
- Helps manage Jill’s House web site, in partnership with Jill’s House third-party web team, drafting and posting timely content that is compelling in support of Jill’s House goals.
- Works with AVP Communications to produce and promote monthly family story and 3-5 blog posts monthly that communicate program impact, share Jill’s House news, and drive engagement.
- Collateral Creation and Digital Asset Management
- Creates written and designed content for use across channels and materials. Works with third-party graphic designers and other vendors to create organizational collateral and branded materials.
- Collects, captures, tags, and stores ministry photography and video. Some close captioning of event video.
- Performs light video editing tasks and works with external videographers to generate high-quality, on-brand, compelling videos.
- Other duties as assigned, including:
- Supports execution of branded experiences, Jill’s House-hosted events, and presence at third-party events. Manages inventory of collateral and giveaways.
- Handles Communications’ monthly disbursements and expense reports.
- Supports other projects and tasks as needed toward Advancement team goals, including collaboration on marketing and communications materials and content, mailings, and other special projects.

- A highly organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects for multiple customers addressing multiple audiences at a time.
- Must affirm the McLean Bible Church Vision and Values as well as abide by the Standards of Christian Conduct.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior experience in communications, marketing, or social media is preferred.
