The Media Group at Access Intelligence is seeking a Senior Editor to contribute to its esteemed 36-year-old Cablefax brand. You must be comfortable with organizing and directing breaking news as well as developing exclusive stories and enterprise articles. Cablefax publishes the premium daily subscription newsletter Cablefax Daily, which provides valuable insights to cable operators, programming executives, fiber providers, telcos/satellite distributors and technology providers. Our readership includes senior level executives at companies such as Comcast, Disney, Fox Corporation and Charter Communications.
This role will be located in NYC, Hybrid, 1x per week in office with additional flexibility.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong news judgment and is able to deliver on-the-spot news as well as analysis and trend pieces that are exclusive to Cablefax.
- Can write about a wide section of areas that dissect the broadband and media industry, including technology, finance, regulation and advertising.
- Has excellent time management, organization and project management skills to be able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
The Senior Editor will be responsible for:
- Contributing content regularly to Cablefax Daily—the industry’s leading news source for content distributors, programmers and technology vendors.
- Developing and optimizing multimedia content for various formats.
- Helping to program and recruit speakers for webinars and live events.
- Supporting with awards programs and writing award profiles.
The ideal Editor will possess:
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in developing strong editorial content in a deadline-oriented environment
- Strong copyediting, interviewing and writing skills
- A Bachelor’s degree (in Media, Journalism Communications or another related field)
- Proficiency in standard Office software and CMS/Wordpress
- Knowledge of the media, communications, broadband and streaming market a plus
- Ability to travel
