CMHA is looking to hire a part-time, 20 hours per week, Communications Intern. This position will be located at 233 Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051. Flexible days and hours.
Compensation
- Undergraduate: $16.50
- Graduate: $17.50
Position Summary: The Communications intern will assist the Grants and Communication department in being responsible for researching strategic opportunities, developing compelling written funding requests, and fulfilling the reporting requirements of foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The Department oversees social media communication as well as manages relationships with community stakeholders. You will gain exposure to the grants process for federal, state, and private funders, including procurement, research, writing, and reporting. Nonprofit event planning. Fundraising efforts for individual and corporate donors, including database management, appeals, donor acknowledgement, and digital donor newsletters.
Essential Responsibilities And Target Outcomes
- Assist with research, data collection, budget planning, writing, editing, and submission of one grant to support an agency program.
- Understand how to plan, promote, and execute a major nonprofit fundraising event.
- Conduct data query for donor newsletter. Assist with writing, editing and sending quarterly digital donor newsletter.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing/PR, BSW, political science.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, time management, critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Valid CT Driver’s License.
