Job Title: Membership & Communications Director

Department: Administration

Reports To: General Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: Front Desk Staff and other membership/communications support as assigned



COMPENSATION

Salaried position with a total compensation range of $75,000 – $85,000. Comprehensive benefits package includes a generous time-off policy, a goal-driven bonus structure, and a continuing education budget.



SUMMARY

The Membership & Communications Director is responsible for driving membership growth, retention, and engagement through strategic marketing and communication initiatives. This role represents the club in interactions with members, prospective members, and the community while ensuring the club’s brand, values, and offerings are effectively promoted and communicated.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities

  • Attend management and staff meetings.
  • Develop, monitor, and adhere to a departmental budget; take corrective action as needed to meet financial goals.
  • Complete other assignments as directed by the General Manager.
  • Foster positive relationships between the club and the surrounding community.

Membership Management

  • Maintain the club’s database and ensure accurate record-keeping of member files.
  • Oversee the processing of membership applications, reinstatements, resignations, and category transfers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve membership growth and retention goals.
  • Assist prospective members with application requirements by conducting tours and hosting orientation programs.
  • Maintain an updated online member directory and manage waiting lists for club memberships.
  • Conduct annual surveys to assess membership satisfaction regarding dues, practices, and fees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of membership services.

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and execute communication strategies that promote club events, membership benefits, and special initiatives.
  • Create, coordinate, and distribute a club newsletter, email campaigns, and other promotional materials.
  • Manage internal advertising channels, including bulletin boards, digital displays, and mobile communication platforms.
  • Oversee the club’s social media strategy across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Ensure the club’s website is updated with timely, relevant content to maintain and enhance member engagement.
  • Capture and disseminate visual content (photos and videos) at social events to highlight club activities.
  • Coordinate with event management and catering teams to integrate membership communications with club activities.




QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, Public Relations, or a relat

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
    • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and navigate various areas of the club (including stairs and event spaces).
    • Work is primarily performed indoors in a controlled environment with moderate noise levels.
    • Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required to support club events and functions.
