The Website and Digital Content Manager is responsible for the strategic design, development, management, and future mapping of digital marketing and communications content for Providence Day, specific to the school’s external website, internal website and newsletter communications. The Website and Digital Content Manager will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing the public perception of Providence Day as an innovative, global leader in independent education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements content strategy and planning across the school’s various outlets to ensure alignment with the mission, Head of School strategic vision, and key message points.
- Manages the architecture, design, content, functionality, and maintenance of the Providence Day School website and Providence Day School Intranet (Charger Commons) and is the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and parent representatives.
- Serves as an innovator and leader in the creation and execution of a comprehensive newsletter strategy to ensure a high open rate, read rate, and click-through rate, as well as fully integrate newsletter strategy with other communications efforts at PDS, including traditional media, public relations, marketing, and advertising.
- Routinely reviews the school’s website to ensure information and data are accurate, consistent, and up to date and that content and design elements are uniform with other school communications and marketing pieces. Collaborate regularly with the Creative Services Manager on graphic elements for digital communications.
- Maintains contact with each division, department, and office within the school to ensure the website needs of their constituencies are being recognized and carried out. Assists with creating, maintaining, and updating their web content. Conducts virtual meetings and trainings with faculty, staff, and parent representatives to ensure content is up to date on a monthly basis.
- Writes, edits, and proofs information/news placed on public portions of the website and school portals and has the authority to approve or reject content proposals.
- Creates graphics for the website and intranet website and, as needed, for other projects using the Providence Day brand standards and guidelines.
- Develops and implements search engine optimization strategies and inbound marketing initiatives to support Admissions and Alumni activities and outreach.
- Utilizes and integrates web-related tools, data analytics, and third-party resources, as applicable, to enhance the school website and, particularly, the end-user experience.
- Coordinates user accounts and provides tech support for faculty, staff, students, parents, Board of Trustees, and alumni access to the school website portals.
- Serves as a liaison with the Technology, Advancement Services, and Admissions departments on data integration issues related to the school website. Works with technology training specialists to train select faculty and staff in web content management.
- Serve as the backup social media person to post content as needed, schedule content, and offer virtual social media guidance, recommendations, and training to PDS staff and faculty.

- Demonstrable experience in Content Management Systems and database management
- HTML, Wordpress, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe CS5/6, Microsoft Excel, Google apps
- Manipulating and embedding images (<iframe>)
- Ability to write for different media platforms; understanding of Usability for web and mobile
- Creative problem-solving, with a strong focus on customer service
- Project-management
