Job Summary
This position will be responsible for developing, writing, and implementing department-focused communications and marketing materials. The position will curate content coming from the department and channel to target audiences through a variety of communications and marketing vehicles. This position may be housed in the Office of Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs (CMPA) or report directly to the department with a dotted line to CMPA.
Prior writing experience preferred. Candidates will be asked to provide writing examples/portfolio.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
This position falls under a hybrid work schedule with 3 days/week in the office. Will also need to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Required
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Experience 3 years related experience
Preferred
- Experience Hands-on, proven experience working with content creation, management, execution, and distribution.
Education or experience in project management, marketing, communications, or related fields preferred. Experience in healthcare ideal.
Job Duties
- Plans, develops, and manages outreach, marketing strategies, and tactics to enhance the reputation of the department.
- Assumes primary responsibility for the development of digital and social media strategies that support reputational growth for the department, in conjunction with CMPA editorial staff.
- Works closely with UT Southwestern Creative and Digital Services to ensure consistent brand articulation across all channels and media.
- Develops, implements, and monitors systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications function for the department.
- Maintains awareness of the local and regional competitive landscape and of key national market segments and trends.
- Proactively leverages department research and other existing sources of information to generate innovative communications and marketing initiatives.
- Finds and generate stories on specific topics for the department, develops and maintains website content, writes monthly department newsletter, and contributes to institutional publications.
- Manages the development of programmatic promotional materials as needed by the department in collaboration with UTSW Marketing team.
- Coordinates with UTSW Video Content and Strategy team to generate still photography and video as needed to supplement marketing and communication publications.
- Contributes to various projects, programs, and events to achieve patient/public education and outreach goals for the department.
- Perform other duties assigned.
