Children’s Cardiology, a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is comprised of more than 60 pediatric cardiologists providing comprehensive services for patients from before birth to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease. The Social Media & Communications Specialist provides support for marketing department initiatives to include promotion of clinical services and programs, content, and practice & physician marketing efforts in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Heart Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ marketing experience, healthcare marketing experience preferred.
- Experience managing platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube required.
- Social media certification a plus.
- Proficiency using Sprout Social or similar social media management platform a plus.
- Experience using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with creative and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, with organizational skills, and follow-through discipline.
- Excellent customer service skills, good judgement, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- May require up to 25% travel to clinical locations and other sites.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing our social media presence across Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube:
- Collaborate with the team to implement a social media strategy that aligns with our marketing objectives.
- Create engaging content and manage the content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posts.
- Monitoring and analyzing social media performance metrics through regular reports, offering recommendations for improvement while staying up to date with industry trends.
- Engage with followers by responding to comments and messages.
- Connect with patient families for patient highlights or stories.
- Follow relevant social media profiles and actively engage with their content.
- Support the physician outreach department initiatives by coordinating with Physician Program Directors to assess the outreach marketing needs. This includes inviting Physician Program Directors to department meetings for education purposes, preparing outreach talking points for the team, identifying relevant collateral materials, and organizing content for the team.
- Manage various physician checklists including onboarding, clinic location changes, retirements, and clinic updates (new openings, changes, closures), by assigning tasks to appropriate team members and ensuring all necessary steps are completed timely.
- Maintain content accuracy on the website (choa.org/heart), including physician profiles, clinic locations, and forms. Work closely with Children’s marketing team and Physician Program Directors to update content for specialty program pages.
- Design and send the monthly physician outreach newsletter to internal physicians and external partners using MailChimp; submit content for internal newsletter and Children’s Physician Outreach team weekly email.
- Maintain a catalogue of marketing materials, including brochures, buckslips, flyers and internal signage in collaboration with the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta marketing team.
- Assist with organizing the database of images, graphics, and photos on Adobe Cloud.
- Generate, manage and update QR codes for various promotions, events, and practice information.
- Write and refresh content for marketing scripts that align with company’s voice and brand messaging.
- Conduct clinic site visits to our various locations to audit and ensure brand reputation is upheld.
- Coordinate strategy for exhibiting at conferences and events, including booth and/or table design, layout, and logistics, including initial planning and follow-up.
- Research, identify and purchase promotional items for events and physician outreach department.
- Provide an overview of the Marketing department during New Employee Orientation.
- Assist with various administrative tasks as required, including submitting purchase orders, processing sponsorship forms, ordering promotional items, managing business card submissions, and collaborating with external vendors.
- Perform other marketing related and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
