OVERVIEW
Jenner & Block’s Professional Development Team is seeking a thoughtful and detail-oriented facilitator to join our collaborative and close-knit team. The Programming & CLE Coordinator will be playing an essential part in leading the firmwide Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) efforts. The Programming & CLE Coordinator will be responsible for programming logistics and the coordination and facilitation of firmwide programs and CLE compliance for lawyers. The Programming & CLE Coordinator will have the opportunity to collaborate and participate with the Professional Development team during the planning and execution of training and CLE programs, orientation, and other firm wide professional development programs. The ideal applicant will have an interest in building strong workplace culture and investing in the development of our lawyers and will also share in our commitment to making Jenner & Block a great place to grow as a professional. This individual will report to the Professional Development Manager. This role is a non-exempt position, based in Chicago, serving all offices. The work schedule for this position is 8:45 a.m.- 5:15 p.m. with additional hours as needed to meet operating and business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the planning and executing event logistics for large-scale training programs.
- Assist in managing program logistics, including coordinating and collaborating with lawyers, IT, AV, conference services, catering, and external vendors.
- Create and update program materials, including updating the Professional Development intranet page with program descriptions, dates, and materials.
- Assist in the development of Professional Development Newsletter, highlighting the unparalleled service and extensive program offerings the PD team provides to Jenner lawyers.
- Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding regarding the mandatory or minimum continuing legal education regulations in states where the firm regularly applies for these credits; monitor for regulation updates.
- Work to establish and/or maintain the firm’s status as an accredited provider of CLE in various jurisdictions where the firm has offices (CA, IL, NY).
- Prepare CLE application(s) for all firm training programs (internal and client-facing)
- Collaborate with business development & marketing professionals to review client-facing training program content; ensure receipt of appropriate materials and timely issue CLE credits to attendees and presenters of these programs, including pre- and post-program review, where possible.
- Ensure the firm’s Learning Management System (CE Manager) appropriately reflects training program details, including to input and update information throughout the course accreditation process.
- Verify course attendance for CLE; prepare and distribute CLE certificates of attendance; assign credits to internal users through the firm’s Learning Management System (CE Manager).
- Input external CLE certificates to support CLE compliance and tracking.
- Ensure speakers receive appropriate CLE credit for their role in developing and delivering training programs.
- Must be service oriented, collegial, and able to work effectively with lawyers, staff, and vendors at all professional levels.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects and/or simultaneous programs with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate the firm’s PLI and Hotshot Legal subscription, including platform access
- Respond to CLE-related questions, whether they arise through the CLE Mailbox or otherwise, and including from the broader Professional Development team.
- Leverage learning management system to full advantage to streamline CLE processes.
- Work collaboratively and seamlessly with the professional development team on ad hoc projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
A professional with experience in managing administrative and programming efforts, and with an understanding of a law firm or professional services environment. Demonstrates the ability to deliver a high standard of work while maintaining a customer service focus.
- A four-year bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment (law firm experience preferred).
- Superior interpersonal, written and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively, professionally, courteously and confidently with candidates, partners, headhunters and all levels of firm personnel and staff.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and Adobe Acrobat; experience with ViDesktop/applicant tracking systems/SharePoint and/or ability to learn new software programs.
- CLE (Continuing Legal Education) knowledge is a plus
- Experience using Zoom, CE Manager and Vuture is a plus

The anticipated pay range for this role is $64,000 to $88,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
