Want to join our Team? We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Total Compensation/HRIS Manager. This position is responsible for managing a wide variety of activities in the human resources department such as employee benefits administration, total compensation plan management, leave administration, employee engagement/well-being programs, payroll, HRIS and database management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, implement, and manage a comprehensive slate of health, welfare, and retirement benefits that are cost effective, responsive to trends and feedback, provide excellent value and performance for enrollees, and is attractive to candidates.
- Performs regular HRIS data hygiene and maintenance, including producing data analytics to inform strategic assessment of tools to attract and retain staff.
- Manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's total compensation program, policies, and procedures.
- Consults with front line management to provide day-to-day HR guidance, including effective implementation of organizational policies and procedures that relate to company personnel.
- Develops and nurtures partnerships to bridge the gap between management and employees using in-depth knowledge of staffing, training, and interdisciplinary needs of each department.
- Processes all Payroll Change Forms and employee information changes in HRIS.
- Acts as Documents and Checklists specialist in Paycom, including creation and maintenance of annual flu vaccine uploads, employee verification checklists, new hire checklists, and dissemination of other documents as needed.
- Serves as the primary contact for all Hospice of the Chesapeake benefit programs, including disseminating information on health, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurances; developing and implementing an on-going plan for benefit communications; and receiving and processing enrollment applications.
- Working with the benefits broker manages and oversees annual open enrollment period. Establishes and maintains benefit files and documents. Researches and recommends benefit changes to Director. Researches and resolves benefit-related concerns and questions.
- Administers organization’s 401(k) program in consultation with broker and HR Director.
- Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis.
- Oversees the administrative aspects of the Family Medical Leave (FMLA) program. Creates and maintains a system for tracking leave usage and for ensuring FMLA compliance. Communicates with staff on leave and with supervisors as appropriate.
- Leads Employee Engagement Committee and associated projects, including monthly recognition and appreciation calendar and newsletter, service award recognition, annual employee engagement survey, and annual employee appreciation event.
- Assists Director with assessment of the changing environment and identifies important trends in human capital management; conceptualizes, and successfully communicates needed changes and implements approved changes.
- Responds to requests for any human resources-related information and assistance in accurate and timely manner.
- Supports Director with various projects and surveys, providing timely responses, as requested. Performs research, documents results and/or compiles statistics, as requested.

Qualifications
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and human resources job experience.
- SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, to include a minimum of three (3) years of experience in HRIS management, total compensation management and benefit administration. Experience with Paycom HRIS, self-pay medical plans and CREBS certification are preferred.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated expertise in computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task with attention to details and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of state and federal laws governing human resources and employment issues and a commitment to staying current with changes in the field and the associated laws.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with vendors, governmental and regulatory agencies and personnel at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Current Maryland driver’s license and clean driving record. Reliable transportation a must.
