Job Description
The Chaldean News (CN) is seeking a full-time Digital Projects Editor to join its West Bloomfield office. The Digital Projects Editor will report to the Creative Director. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of Metro Detroit's Chaldean community and a general awareness of Chaldean heritage, as well as the current political environment, as it pertains to the status of Iraqi's Christian population. Passion for the community and an energetic drive to serve the Chaldean News audience is a must.
The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to contribute writing assignments for the Chaldean News. Assistance and coaching will be provided by the publication's editor.
Job Tasks And Responsibilities
- Post content to CN website and social media platforms.
- Edit audio and video projects.
- Maintain a weekly e-newsletter and an online Chaldean community calendar.
- Monitor online performance results and adjust content to maximize engagement and value for the CN audience.
- Create quarterly reports to track progress.
- Assist with gathering, organizing and copy-editing CN content (monthly).
- Attend and help facilitate CN-sponsored events (approximately 3-4 per year).
- Attend weekly team meetings and monthly editorial board meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field required.
- 2-5 years of related experience in editing and publishing.
- Knowledge of audio/video editing software and common applications such as word processing, spreadsheets; and web-based content posting tools.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends (as needed).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasionally may be required to lift up to 15 pounds.
