Noise Pop Industries, the San Francisco-based champion of independent music, art, and culture for 30 years, is looking to add a collaborative team member to play a crucial role in the day-to-day of their event discovery platform and digital advertising business, DoTheBay.
DoTheBay is locally owned and operated by Noise Pop Industries and part of the larger DoStuff network which includes 21 local sites across North America. DoTheBay consists of a small and mighty team with a proven track record of success and in need of additional support to help it continue to grow. Our mission is to be the #1 source for local nightlife & entertainment in the SF Bay Area. We’re all about providing fun and valuable info to our audiences through our website, newsletter, and social media channels.
We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Manager to lead DoTheBay’s social media presence, engagement strategy and advertising campaign deliverables. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our social media accounts and developing strategies to enhance our online presence and provide more value to our clients and local audiences. This role is critical in helping DoTheBay expand its digital reach, ensuring our audience remains engaged and informed, and executing client campaigns in collaboration with account management, sales and other areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management: Oversee and maintain DTB’s social media presence across various platforms - creating, curating, and scheduling engaging and relevant content. Monitor social media trends and engagement analytics to optimize strategies.
- Content Creation: Lead efforts to create high-quality and engaging content that resonates with our target audience. Be an expert on best practices.
- Audience Engagement: Implement tactics to grow and engage our social following. Leverage insights to further develop our other owned channels (website, newsletters etc.)
- Campaign Execution: Collaborate with account management, sales, content management and others on the team to execute client campaigns on our platform, ensuring they align with our brand identity and audience. Track and report on campaign performance.
- Community Building: Actively engage with our audience, responding to comments, messages, and feedback to build a sense of community and trust.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of social media efforts. Provide weekly performance reports and insights.
- Strategic Alignment & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media activities align with overarching business strategies. Work in close collaboration with DTB Content Manager to craft creative and compelling content, as well as establish writing strategies and guidelines for all DTB owned-channels.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in social media management and content creation, with a strong portfolio of digital content and campaigns.
- Proficiency with all social media platforms - especially IG, FB, X, TikTok, and Threads.
- Experience with paid social media advertising and other paid promotions
- Strong writing, editing and visual storytelling skills
- Expert on social media trends and digital content
- Creative thinker with ability to generate innovative, authentic content
- Proactive team player committed to delivering results in a fast paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc)
- Genuine enthusiasm and passion for San Francisco’s local music, culture, and entertainment
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other creative software
- Familiarity with productivity tools such as Loom and ChatGPT
- Prior work experience in music, events or related industries
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or related field.
