Job Summary
The Marketing Communications Manager joins Sundt’s growing marketing team. You love storytelling and the content creation process. You’re driven to understand your audience and find stories that resonate with them. You can write compelling, engaging, and persuasive copy for corporate reports, employee newsletters, websites and more. You’re also a strong editor who can supervise the department’s marketing writers, ensuring that all content is well-written, engaging and aligned with Sundt’s brand, strategy and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to support communications strategies and objectives, including identifying potential stories and working with subject matter experts.
- Contributes to the development of communication plans for internal and external marketing.
- Ensures that internal and external marketing communications strategy aligns with overall business strategy/goals and supports/strengthens the company's brand.
- Manages content development and execution for various internal and external communications, including corporate annual report, employee newsletter, company announcements, website content and more.
- Monitors industry news and conversation to stays up-to-date on trends and relevant issues.
- Provides team leadership to direct and coordinate work of assigned staff including setting goals, conducting performance reviews and managing team priorities.
- Drafts articles and copy for a variety of channels including Sundt’s website, annual report, newsletters, marketing collateral and more.
- Edits written materials for clarity, grammar, style and brand alignment, including newsletters, company announcements, employee communications, marketing collateral and more.
Minimum Job Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in public relations and/or communications, preferably in the construction industry and/or with mid-sized companies or enterprises.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple deadlines, delivering quality results.
- BNBS in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or similar degree.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Experience with media relations and communicating with reporters and editors.
- Open to travel: 10-20% travel required.
- Proactive, independent worker who excels in a team environment.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Significant experience with social media platforms on behalf of mid-sized businesses or enterprises.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills.
