POSITION OVERVIEW:
Join the Philadelphia 76ers content team as the Coordinator of Editorial Content, where you’ll play a vital role in helping tell the team's story both on and off the court. As a key member of our dynamic team, you'll be responsible for covering the 76ers beat at home games and practices, attending media availabilities, and engaging with the community at various events. You’ll collaborate on the 76ers Insiders podcast, co-hosting and assisting with production as needed. Your writing skills will shine as you produce compelling content for sixers.com, including game-related articles, podcast previews, and engaging newsletter features. If you’re experienced in sports media and ready to make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Report on the 76ers beat and attend media availabilities after practice, before and after home games, and others that arise throughout the season and offseason.
- Attend community events to assist with coverage.
- Schedule and communicate for the 76ers Insiders podcast on the Sixers Radio Network presented by Stern & Cohen Law.
- Co-host and assist with production of the 76ers Insiders podcast as needed.
- Produce regular written content for sixers.com and digital marketing initiatives, including the following:
- Podcast transcriptions for Q&A-style articles promoting podcast.
- Concise written articles on gamedays and coordination of 76ers PR or opponent’s postgame notes to be published after games.
- 76ers newsletter (e.g. Sixth Man Newsletter) blurbs and sections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of relevant work experience in a professional sports team’s content department.
- Experience with interviewing professional athletes in locker room setting.
- Strong understanding of AP-style writing.
- Strong knowledge of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
- Experience and comfort with the Adobe suite, specifically audio editing on Adobe Audition or an equivalent, as well as video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Travel Requirements: May be required to travel on occasion (<10% travel)Work Environment: This position is based in our Camden, NJ office and works frequently from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.Recognize the sports and entertainment industry requires flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
