The Team
MHF's Communications & Strategy team strives to provide the best qualitative products and services internally and externally. We endeavor to build long-lasting working relationships with our internal stakeholders and the communities we serve. As the nature of communications rapidly evolves, we envision team members' ability to reflect and advance the needs of the communities we serve and the audiences we engage and swiftly adapt to changes in communication methodology using social media and other communications platforms that are widely used by the staff and communities we serve.
The Position
We're looking for a Bilingual Communications Specialist to help us amplify our message and reach a diverse audience. This isn't just a job; it's a chance to drive change and inspire others! This role reports to the Director of Communications and is mainly responsible for the graphic design of various marketing and communications elements.
What You'll Do
- Craft Compelling Content: responsible for the graphic design of various marketing and communications elements, including but not limited to social media, digital ads, print ads, various branded signs, office materials and merchandise, and internal communications in Spanish and English. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere are required software to create content for this role.
- Engagement Enthusiast: Shares the responsibility for social media publishing, scheduling, and community management for all MHF/AMMD's active social media accounts in English and Spanish (including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, LinkedIn and Facebook). Additional social media platforms may be added to meet our target audiences' evolving social media use trends.
- Review Guru: Responsible for updating MHF's online business profiles on review platforms like Yelp and Google and maintaining MHF's Spanish-language web presence
- Administrative Rockstar: administrative aspects, including but not limited to monthly department expenses reconciliation, monitoring of external email inbox, and asset management
- Creative Visuals Assistant: assists the Comms & Strategy team with in-house videography and photography productions.
- Newsletter Ninja: This role assists in coordinating content and producing the monthly internal newsletter.
What We're Looking For:
- Bilingual Superstar: Spanish-language proficiency, with experience writing marketing copy in Spanish and translating English-language marketing copy into Spanish.
- Adobe Champion: Proven Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere for Mac proficiency are required.
- Video Content Curator: Previous experience editing videos for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram reels in an in-house role.
- Motion Graphics Specialist: Experience with motion graphics (including GIF creation and animation).
- Social Media Strategist: Managing social media handles for brands, including experience implementing effective strategies for social media engagement and growth
- Organizational Wizard: excellent time-management skills, experience in advancing projects and initiatives, experience in advancing projects and initiatives
- Compliance Guardian: the ability to stay abreast of privacy, confidentiality, copyright, and use policies associated with archives and special collection materials.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, public relations or related field (preferred)
