The Department of Neurological Surgery has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Research Coordinator who will work on the Indian Health Services Dementia Training and Education Resource (IDTER) project training grant, clinical engagement opportunities. This dynamic position will be responsible for supporting the startup, implementation, and overall operations for the training implementation within Indian Health Services (IHS).
This position requires the ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member. The position will have some interaction with PI's, Project Directors, physicians, other health care personnel (e.g., nurses, patient care coordinators), fiscal staff and administrators. The successful applicant will provide technical and organizational support to this national clinical training project, assisting in including startup and implementation. In addition, the position will provide support with training document management and coordination, clinical engagement protocols delivery and day-to-day assistance for a nationwide health training project and tracking training center reimbursements and other contract and budget requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
Training Project Startup
Serve as the point-person for tracking tasks and documents between UW and all collaborative sites, and provide reports to leadership on a weekly basis
Manage the startup design, planning, and implementation of the clinical training programs, ensuring they met organizational and compliance standards
Develop all budgetary, contractual, and all other aspects of training protocols for the programs
Manage the overall budget and billing information for the project
Attend meetings and provide minutes and summary reports
Program Support
Develop and update the protocols for the national training center to meet successful milestones and adhere to monthly and annual timelines
Work with the training team and directors to develop standard protocols for IRB documentation, status report submissions
Identify and troubleshoot challenges throughout the training rollout and implementation to achieve successful outcomes
Oversee documentation and enter information into database systems
Manage the communication for the programs and projects
Attend meetings with stakeholders, develop meetings minutes and summary reports
Manage and disseminate flyers and other communication materials for a newsletter, social media, websites, etc.
Fiscal Activities
Manage the financial operations for purchase requests, travel arrangements, reimbursements, and other fiscal activities per UW and WA state policies
Facilitate payments to clinical partners and manage billing procedures related to training, including tracking, invoicing, and internal audits
Create billing procedures related to training include purchasing, tracking, invoicing, distributing and internal audits
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in a Public Health, Social Work, Health Sciences or related field
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Research Experience
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Additional Requirements
Demonstrated ability with strong written/oral communication and organizational skills,
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.
Proficiency with standard MS Office software and database management, event planning and scheduling
Ability to adapt and respond appropriately to competing priorities
Highly self-motivated ability to take initiative to improve existing processes
Familiarity with NIH and federally funded research or training grants
Experience working in a clinical setting or for research related care
Skilled in conference planning and online meeting management
Desired Qualifications
Experience with large scale or multi-site researcher studies or training projects
Previous startup, regulatory, billing experience
Experience working with American Indian or Alaska Native populations
