This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical marketing initiatives that align with broader business goals. Key responsibilities include leading the team of four direct reports in the development of proposals, qualification packages, presentations, digital marketing, and communication materials that support the overall marketing and business development objectives. Additionally, the Marketing Director will identify and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize team performance. This leader will also mentor, coach, and train team members, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead strategic and tactical marketing and business development initiatives to support overall company objectives that advance the business.
- Develops, implements and manages the company’s marketing plan and budget.
- Leads and supports organization in the development of marketing plans, strategies and initiatives that support overall business plans and business development efforts. Actively participates in business planning processes and is accountable for marketing plan implementation and execution.
- Directs offices in creating, preparing, maintaining, and disseminating marketing materials, including proposals, pre-qualifications and electronic presentations.
- Develops and implements integrated marketing communications programs including advertising, trade shows, organization involvement, Internet, social media, and public relations to advance the brand.
- Develops and manages a unified content calendar for marketing initiatives to ensure that it is effectively maintained and executed.
- Manages the company’s digital marketing strategy and coordinates efforts with the marketing team for websites, intranet, social media, SEO and SEM, and email marketing.
- Develop and maintain brand strategy, communication guides and identity standards to ensure consistency for all marketing, proposal and business development deliverables.
- Provides support to Business Development Managers in their client and opportunity pursuits.
- Partners with HR on employment branding and support recruiting efforts.
- Lead the team in the preparation of responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s including kickoff/status meetings, proposal team assignments, overall proposal schedule, follow-up, review, editing, and presentation support.
- Coordinates with team to improve, refine and update collateral materials, boilerplate information and templates for all Company proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Provides training, coaching, mentoring and oversight to marketing support staff. Train team members in best practices while also inspiring them to be proactive in their own professional development.
- Coordinates with team photo and video shoots for new/completed projects and new hires.
- Supports Salesforce CRM updates, and leads Proposal Automation, Hubspot Marketing, Open Asset Digital Media Management, and other technology to support business development, proposal and marketing information and overall maintenance.
- Leads internal and external communication regarding new project awards, new hires, general announcements, newsletter, events and mailings.
- Coordinates with team to support events associated with industry conferences and trade shows including client dinners, golf outing, meetings, etc.
- Partner and facilitate outside agencies, creative and technical resources.
- Participates in key industry organizations and associations, such as SMPS, to engage, learn, identify and apply industry best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience marketing in the construction or engineering industries required
