Quatrro Business Support Services is seeking an Accountant for our not-for-profit team. The Accountant is responsible for servicing the accounting needs of our nonprofit clients, including finance statements, bank reconciliations, payroll integration, accounts payable, cash receipts postings, general ledger journal entry preparation, and other related accounting tasks. The Accountant will serve as the brand ambassador of Quatrro and help initiate, maintain, and develop the relationship as a key contact and internal liaison for the client.

This role can be fully remote from anywhere in the US, but preference will be given to candidates in the Detroit area. Occasional travel to a Quatrro office or client sites in Detroit may be required.
Responsibilities:
Client Relations and Support
- Act as the point of contact for any questions related to daily/weekly/monthly accounting transactions related to payables, receivables, payroll, etc
- Provide necessary data to facilitate the client's monthly financial statement and annual budgeting process
Service Delivery
- Execute the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks checklist for clients, including bookkeeping and financial reporting frequency, and send for review and approval
- Prepare bank and account reconciliations, record payables, receivables, fixed assets, and liability schedules by the US/India teams, rectify errors (if any) and ensure completion as per timelines
- Support client annual audits by external agencies by providing required documentation
Accounting Duties
- Review the daily deliverables, i.e. account payables, receivables, bank reconciliation and cash flows, and ensure they are booked correctly
- Ensure invoicing of all state, government and private funding agency grants; upload on the respective portals for timely reimbursements to the client if applicable
- Review General Ledger accounts and ensure all coding is correct, and make corrections as needed
- Reconcile/review the reconciliations of balance sheet schedules comprising AP, AR, Deferred Revenues, Accrued Expenses, Prepaid Expense, and Assets to ensure accuracy in the financial statements
- Ensure the necessary rectifications are completed as per directions from the Accounting Manager on the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flow
- Make the payroll entries based on the time logs received from the clients/Oversee payroll entries made by the teams (India/US) and run the payroll
- Review credit card bills and book appropriately in the systems
- Upload the 990 details on auditor's portal, ensure approvals come on time to meet the filing timelines
- Run preliminary financial statements on QuickBooks/Financial Edge software and highlight any specific items for the manager's attention
- Prepare expense reports as part of grant reporting for federal and state funds
Required Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in accounting, finance, or business with an accounting/finance focus
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Experienced in MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Familiarity with General Ledger Systems
- Knowledge of accounting software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; relationship building
- Business acumen and ability to communicate with key stakeholders, clients, and company executives
- Ability to manage priorities and functions; strong time management skills
