ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
The Neighborhood Impact Investment Fund (NIIF) is an innovative public-private partnership that provides powerful tools to deliver capital to benefit historically disinvested neighborhoods in Baltimore. The Fund is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working in alignment with the City to promote community development and enhance inclusive, equitable economic growth. Capitalized by a $51.7 million loan from the City, NIIF is working to leverage additional support and investment from philanthropies, financial institutions, and mission investors. In 2021, NIIF was certified by the US Treasury Department as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Associate will report to the CEO or COO and is responsible for supporting the work of the CEO and the Lending and Impact team and for working collaboratively with NIIF’s Board, the Finance team and third-party partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Operations (40%)
- Provide support to board and board committees, including maintaining board calendar, overseeing board communications and distribution of materials, managing board records.
· Draft and maintain board and committee minutes and other records as required.
- Assist Impact Manager with administration of NIIF’s impact survey and monthly impact tracking
- Support relationships with Fund Manager and other third-party consultants / service providers.
- Providing additional administrative support, as needed.
Communications, Marketing, and Event Planning (40%)
- Assist in drafting, editing and content development for organization’s website, e-Newsletter and Annual Report.
- Help develop, implement, and oversee NIIF’s social media strategy, and monitor its social media presence.
- Assist with implementation and management of relationship contact management system.
- Lead planning for NIIF’s stakeholder events, as needed.
- Support fundraising efforts as needed including grant submissions and related reporting to the US Treasury CDFI Fund.
- Support relationships and partnerships withpublic and private sector stakeholders including agencies within the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland, nonprofit community development organizations, and for-profit partners.
Community Development Lending Support (40%)
· Support the community development lending team in working with prospective borrowers to collect relevant information, preparing credit evaluation materials and memos and completing loan closings.
· Support post-closing portfolio management and finance staff in maintaining records, reporting and tracking of loans.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest and/or experience in affordable housing, community development finance, lending and investment, banking, or other relevant field preferred
· Knowledge of - and commitment to - the City of Baltimore with dedication to racial and economic justice consistent with the mission and goals of NIIF
- Self-directed, hands-on, and resourceful able to collaborate and excel within a small team
- Undergraduate degree with coursework and/or a degree in a relevant subject (e.g., marketing or communications preferred), and/or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years of experience working in finance or communications and corporate administration
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Adobe
· Working knowledge of social media and website platforms
- Strong writing skills with diligent attention to detail for grammar and spelling- must be a strong copywriter and proofreader
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse set of organizational stakeholders

This role will require working on-site at NIIF's offices 2-3 days per week and attending in-person meetings and site visits as needed.
Salary $50,000-65,000
