Overview:
This is a 3-month unpaid internship designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of recruitment and human resources. The role will involve assisting with various recruiting and administrative tasks, offering valuable insights into HR processes and operations. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to gain practical skills and knowledge in a professional setting. The Talent Acquisition & Employee Engagement Intern will support the HR team by focusing on recruitment efforts and enhancing our internal social media presence and employee relations activities. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition, internal communications, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
- Assist in sourcing and screening candidates for various roles.
- Post job openings on job boards, social media, and other platforms.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with potential candidates.
- Interview line-level candidates.
- Assist with standardizing the interview process.
- Help maintain and update the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Help with recruiting and onboarding employee merchandise by sourcing and designing items.
Internal Social Media & Employee Relations:
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance our internal social media presence.
- Create engaging content for internal social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to interactions and comments on internal social media.
- Assist in creating and distributing the company newsletter.
- Support the planning and execution of employee relations activities, such as the Caregiver of the Quarter initiative, or company events
- Help with the yearly calendar planning for the following year.
- Identify and drive caregiving stories and other employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure birthdays and anniversaries are recognized and celebrated.
Administrative Tasks:
- Check logbooks and upload employee information into their files.
- Scan files and maintain digital records.
- Review the recruiting website and job descriptions to ensure maximum capability.
- Collect monthly inventory and track items given to the team.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Personable and able to communicate well with others.
- Proficient in using social media platforms.
- Creative and able to contribute innovative ideas.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in recruitment or internal communications is a plus.
