The primary role of the Marketing Specialist is to create strong content through a variety of channels to promote the vision and mission of the organization. Under the direction of the Marketing & Public Relations Manager, this role is responsible for a wide variety of marketing and communications initiatives such as planning, organizing, directing, scheduling, and coordinating social media, print marketing, email campaigns, advertising, managing reviews, and other similar tasks.
Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions (ALE) is the most experienced deep-field operator in Antarctica, providing a wide range of guided experiences, air support, logistical back-up and safety cover for governmental research programs, independent expeditions, and tourists. ALE is a Utah company with a year-round office in Salt Lake City, a seasonal operations support office in Punta Arenas, Chile, and a several seasonal field camps in Antarctica.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, develop, implement and analyze content marketing strategies and campaigns through digital marketing content, print assets, internal and external sales and marketing materials, social media content, email campaigns, lead generation, and other branding and sales related content as needed
- Update all branded documentation such as booking forms, itineraries, equipment lists, sales reference materials, info maps, rates sheets, staff forms, staff poster, etc.
- Create written and digital content in support of brand objectives
- Social media management through multiple platforms including but not limited to; Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- Email newsletter planning, creation, implementation, and analysis in support of brand directive, lead generation, and sales conversion
- Coordinate content related to lead generation opportunities such as identifying new digital channels to reach new and returning guests and exploring innovative marketing tactics
- Tracks online reviews through various websites and responds accordingly to uphold the reputation of the company
- Collaborate with a range of partners and outside vendors such as designers, writers, photographers, and videographers to accomplish projects
- Organization and maintenance of content assets such as videos, photography and copy through a variety of organizational and storage platforms
- Participates in a variety of general office support activities such as greeting guests, networking, answering phones, filing paperwork, organizing forms, preparing, and mailing outbound packages.
- May travel as needed to Union Glacier, Antarctica; Punta Arenas, Chile; and other locations across the world to attend industry related trade shows and conventions and to meet with current and prospect agents and guide companies.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, business, tourism or related field and two (2) years of related experience; or any combination of equivalent experience, education, and training. Valid passport and driver's license.
Preferred qualifications include experience with marketing in outdoor recreation or tourism, global marketing, video editing, and graphic design.
Compensation And Benefits
The Marketing & Content Specialist will make an annual salary between $62,000 and $68,000.

The Marketing Specialist is an FLSA Exempt position.
Physical RequirementsThis position involves Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Incumbents in this role typically require standing or sitting for prolonged periods, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Field visits to Antarctica will require the incumbent to pass a medical questionnaire that is reviewed by our Medical Director.
