Donald Thompson, a multi-exit CEO, DEI Champion, award-winning author, speaker, and consultant, is seeking an Executive Brand Manager and Content Strategist with strong project management skills to lead marketing efforts and content strategy to drive revenue through consulting and speaking engagements and content monetization.
This role combines strategy and execution to build a personal brand through social engagement growth and email marketing fueled by search-optimized content and learning paths. The ideal candidate is a talented marketer with strong writing skills and a knack for public relations. You will work closely with Donald to amplify his thought leadership and convert influence into measurable success.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, results-driven professional who enjoys collaboration, creating a plan, and delivering work that influences productive organizational cultures, equity, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute an innovative digital marketing strategy to drive social media followers (LinkedIn, Instagram), newsletter subscribers, and engagement from target personas (i.e. CEOs of $20-50M companies)
- Develop an SEO-backed content strategy that includes newsletters, blogs, articles, and podcasts to elevate Donald Thompson as a top thought leader and expert
- Manage content partners, such as course developers, podcast producers, and writers to grow the brand
- Write compelling short-form content (blogs, articles) and press releases to increase awareness and amplify thought leadership
- Expand brand credibility through awards, guest blogging, appearances and third-party validation
- Implement and optimize content monetization strategies to drive revenue for content products and services
What Success Looks Like:
- Build a Membership Service: Create a tiered subscription model with exclusive content to drive recurring revenue
- Increase Paid Speaking and Consulting: Secure speaking opportunities and expand the consulting client base
- Develop Corporate Training Programs: Design and deliver impactful training on DEI, leadership, and sales
- Maximize Book Sales: Drive book sales through promotions and bundling with other services
- Sell Digital Products: Market e-books, whitepapers, and toolkits that offer actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years in digital marketing or PR with proven success in growing and amplifying brands with targeted personas through social media and email marketing; experience in paid media is a plus
- Strong writing skills (short- and long-form content) with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Project management expertise with a blend of strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Experience in monetizing content-centered products such as courses, books and webinars
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related fields
- Experience in marketing and writing on topics of DEI, leadership development, and business growth are helpful
- Basic knowledge of AP Style
- Established network in media relations preferred
