The Student Engagement Manager plays a vital role in enhancing co-curricular engagement through advising the Student Union Board (SUB), supporting over 200 student organizations, and overseeing the Peer Involvement Advisor program. Key responsibilities include steering program development, orchestrating major campus events, and providing guidance to student leaders. This position is central to cultivating a vibrant and inclusive campus environment, significantly influencing student life and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Advisory and Program Development: Serve as the primary advisor for the Student Union Board (SUB), guiding program development and supporting student leaders in reaching their personal and professional goals. Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale events such as concerts, managing contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with campus policies, and coordinating logistics to enhance campus life.
- Compliance and Support for Student Organizations: Manage compliance and recognition processes for student groups, develop targeted training for organizational skills, financial responsibility, and event planning, and provide ongoing organizational support.
- Large-Scale Campus Event Coordination: Play a key role in planning, overseeing, and executing major campus events such as MinerRama, Spring O’Rama and portions of O-Week. Ensure seamless event management from conceptualization through to completion, including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and on-site logistics, to create engaging and memorable experiences for the student body.
- Student Engagement Platform Management: Administer Miner Link, the student engagement platform, ensuring system settings, user roles, and policy compliance. Lead training, data analysis, technical support, and stakeholder collaboration to enhance functionality and user experience.
- Peer Involvement Advisor Program Management: Oversee the Peer Involvement Advisor program, handling responsibilities such as hiring, training, and supervising the team. Coordinate involvement fairs, provide organizational training, and lead engagement initiatives to ensure the team is effectively enhancing student involvement across campus.
- Communication and Event Management: Manage communication strategies and event scheduling, including guidance on the eConnection newsletter, social media, and new dissemination platforms like podcasts or MS Teams.
- Community Support and Intervention Coordination: Partner with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL) to manage community support advisor programs and interventions.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the division of student success.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $53,000 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
