Social Media Manager/Account Coordinator Job Description
Sparq is looking to add a collaborative, motivated, detail-oriented, and social media-obsessed Social Media Manager/Account Coordinator to our growing team!
This is a full-time position (approx. 40 hrs/week) remote with scheduled meetings and events.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This role will be focused on account management, design and content creation, and strategy. To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for eye-catching content with a well-crafted message. You are eager to grow and be a force in achieving client goals through tactical social initiatives. As a key member of the social team, you will be responsible for creating and designing engaging and interactive content, developing content calendars, managing social media accounts, tracking monthly deliverables, and meeting client deadlines and expectations.
This person will also be supporting and managing social media communities and messaging across multiple client accounts by interacting with each brand’s handles daily, replying to and engaging within messages, reviews, comments, and check-ins. You’ll also help develop an editorial calendar by sourcing on-brand content, assisting with story mockups, facilitating daily postings, and keeping content mission archives organized and easily accessible.
This person will also create engaging copy for social media and marketing materials. To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for writing, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content
- Develop robust social media strategies for a variety of clients including retail centers, restaurant, and national brands
- Create and manage client content calendars, deadlines, and creative requests
- Source on-brand content that maximizes the brand
- Collaborate on the development of social media strategy and content to ensure we are on target with brand voice, persona, and identity
- Oversee management of social media accounts
- Conduct social media audits, including competitive analysis
- Create/design content such as Instagram reels, Instagram stories, and more
- Work with brands to create KPIs based on business goals and actively track against those metrics
- Attend events and produce live social media content; facilitate video/photo shoots, as appropriate
- Work as a team to ensure brand and agency standards are met, the agency stays ahead of social media trends, and acts as an invaluable marketing resource to our clients
- Keep up with the latest social media best practices and technologies, and identify new tools to elevate the department and client success
Community Management
- Own community management and the brand voice for multiple social media accounts, primarily on Instagram and Facebook
- Monitor, reply to, and engage within messages, reviews, comments, geotags/photo tags across the social media channels on a daily basis (Monday-Friday, standard business hours)
- Possible occasional scheduled weekend postings
- Proactively engage with relevant accounts to help drive followership and growth via client channels
- Find UGC (user-generated content) and support request efforts
- Execute proactive community management efforts as directed by account lead, learning and growing knowledge of successful tactics leading to follower growth
- Flag any thematic feedback or trends you see from the communities that you’re managing to the account lead
Copywriting
- Write and edit engaging, on-brand copy for web content, product stories, blogs, promotional emails, and all forms of social media.
- Assist and collaborate with the team in developing concepts and content calendars for clients.
- Consistently create clear and compelling copy free of spelling, grammatical and formatting errors.
- Conduct research on industry trends and audience demographics.
Design
- Create designs with Canva Pro
- Be adept at multimedia creation using Canva Pro, including but not limited to, video creation, audio editing, creating gifs, resizing images, reformatting, text options, branding and color elements, and file organization.
- Keep current on Canva Pro and content creation trends.
Other
- Demonstrate attention to detail, while being able to prioritize and multitask
- Stay on top of the latest trends in social media
- Ability to perform other tasks, duties, or projects as required
- Email newsletter copywriting, formatting, and designing
Experience
- Social media experience preferred
- Proven skills in utilizing the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn
- Content creation capabilities preferred: video, photography & graphics, shot lists, props, storylines
Requirements
- Computer skills, including knowledge of Google Docs/Sheets/Drive
- Canva Pro design and team experience
- Respond to communication via text, Slack, phone, and email in a timely manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Basic understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X, and LinkedIn, Tiktok
- Foundational understanding of influencer engagement
- Ability to learn Facebook Business Manager, run and manage ads, and gather analytics
- Passion for social media to stay current with social media best practices and trends
ACCOUNT COORDINATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An Account Coordinator is the first point of contact for client support. Those in this role also perform administrative tasks associated with the account, such as providing reports on account activity, drafting emails, making phone calls, organizing documents and spreadsheets.
Account Coordinator duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate attention to detail, while being able to prioritize and multitask
- Communicating regularly with clients to provide product updates and technical support
- Addressing client questions and solving issues
- Assembling promotional material to be sent to new and existing clients
- Helping managers organize promotional events
- Creating work schedules and project plans to meet deadlines
Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to detail to ensure clients receive the correct advice and support
- Problem-solving skills to help clients who may experience issues
- Ability to think creatively when producing promotional material and helping prepare for events
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to provide effective support to a large number of client accounts
- Computer skills, including word processors and spreadsheet software
- Ability to explain products and concepts clearly and concisely to clients
- Upbeat and positive attitude and willing to serve
Pay:
$22-25/hr. depending on experience
