Job Description
The Content Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Seattle Parks Foundation’s overall efforts to drive engagement and grow our base of donors, partners, and supporters. This role will support management of communications strategy and production of print and electronic publications, social media engagement, internal and external marketing, and advocacy efforts. The Content Coordinator will play an integral role in our 25th Anniversary year and beyond through the creation of strategic and cohesive storytelling campaigns, working across internal and external teams to produce and create collateral.
The ideal candidate will be a technically savvy content strategist, competent in a variety of digital communication platforms including social media, email platforms, and WordPress web design. They will be a natural storyteller and have an innate ability to combine strong writing with design finesse and mixed media to tell a story in a number of different ways. They will have an eye for design and brand consistency, both for SPF and the independent brands of our community partners. They will have the capacity to create fresh and compelling narratives for both internal and external audiences and engage with our social media platforms to expand our outreach.
Strategy:
- Partner with Chief Operating Officer and Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications to develop and maintain organizational communications plan, calendar, and activities.
- Research and understand new information quickly to gain relevant context for developing assets, such as industry jargon and language expectations.
- Support strategic work for SPF and our partners, including but not limited to developing presentations, marketing materials, and reports.
- Support the creation and distribution of advocacy campaigns that garner public support for our partners’ projects and SPF-backed initiatives.
- Support equity efforts to ensure all our community partners are able to amplify their projects, regardless of their individual capacity and expertise.
Marketing and Communications:
- Collaborate with Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications to create and execute communications calendar.
- Monitor all SPF social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn) and create all posts.
- Create compelling multi-channel communications to engage broad audiences in support of SPF and our community partners.
- Write targeted, effective, and engaging communications highlighting the impact of our work for use in grant applications and fundraising, in addition to engagement with stakeholders.
- Research, write, and edit long- and short-form content, including newsletter articles, blogs, emails, and social media copy.
- Design brand aligned assets to support campaigns and ongoing communications.
- Support press outreach for coverage of SPF and our partners’ projects.
- Develop templates and resources for our community partners.
- Maintain digital photo and video collection; assist with the development of videos for projects and events.
- Attend public outreach events as needed (this may include evenings and weekends, with recovery time offered).

Primary Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and communications.
- A minimum of 2 years in multi-faceted digital marketing and communications tools including experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn), web design platforms (WordPress), email systems (MailChimp), photo and graphic design (Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Ability to develop effective organizational work plans and manage multiple projects with moving parts.
- Great attention to detail while maintaining the big picture.
- Proactive, strategic and collaborative thinker.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual Salary Range between $50,000-$65,000/year
