About the Opportunity
This is a perfect opportunity for a Marketing Specialist or someone with two or more years generalist marketing experience to join the team and work for a fast growing marketplace business.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a varied role with an exciting mix of analytics and creativity! In this role you will be responsible for all of Flippa’s email and social media communications and campaigns, you will also be tasked with growing our email subscribers and increasing their engagement on a daily basis.
This position is a 12 month fixed term contract (maternity leave cover) and reports into our Senior Content Marketing Manager and is based in our East Austin Office!

As the Marketing Specialist at Flippa, you’ll get to -
- Support the marketing team and learn on the job working for a fast growing marketplace business.
- Implement our email marketing campaigns and manage email reporting.
- Grow our email subscribers.
- Increase email engagement.
- Manage our email segmentation.
- Assist with Flippa owned events and marketing collateral.
- Plan and implement our social media strategy.
This role is fast paced and has a number of key responsibilities including:
- Producing daily, weekly and monthly emails to distribute to Flippa’s customers, this is critical to the role.
- Assess and select the best businesses to include in emails working closely with Flippa’s M&A Advisors to promote key businesses.
- Create and implement email testing strategies aimed at increasing open rates and click through rates. Continually testing, learning and optimizing.
- Manage and execute campaign-specific email sequences in conjunction with the wider marketing and sales teams.
- Monitor and track all email campaigns and report on open rates, engagement, subscription rates, and segmentation.
- Manage and create compelling content for current social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.
- Manage a social media calendar keeping it fresh and on trend, and in sync with the content marketing calendar and broader Flippa strategic objectives.
- Manage creation of weekly content for The Exit Podcast, including images, copy and uploading episodes on Flippa’s website.
- Support the marketing team to execute paid media campaigns including newsletter sponsorship and social media advertising.
- Support the product team to create and execute product marketing campaigns.
What Success looks like:
- Meeting weekly content requirements including 7x email sends, 10x social media posts, 3x push notifications, and 3x podcast summary copy.
- Meeting KPI measurements such as email open and click numbers, social media followers and engagement.
- Building and maintaining cooperative relationships with M&A Advisors to promote key businesses.
- Driving leads through paid advertising campaigns.
What you bring to the table -
- This role will suit a self starter with previous experience in marketing (ideally 2+ years).
- Experience with email marketing and campaign execution would be advantageous but is not required.
- A level of comfort working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, dealing with global clients.
- A can-do-attitude and passion for the marketing craft.
- Proven experience or comfort juggling multiple projects effectively.
- Experience in Hubspot or someone who is tech savvy and can pick up new systems quickly
- A love of analytics and data dissection aimed at driving user engagement and conversions.
- Previous experience in marketplace environments, fast growth tech businesses and / ordigital real estate will be considered an advantage.
