The Texas Independent Automobile Dealers Association (TIADA) is dedicated to serving independent auto dealers across Texas through advocacy, education, and resources. We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to lead our efforts in promoting the association, engaging our membership, and driving strategic growth.
Position Overview
The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that enhance TIADA’s visibility, increase member engagement, and promote the association’s events, products, and services. This role oversees all member communications across multiple platforms, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand message. Additionally, the Director serves as the primary writer and editor for TIADA’s publications, including Texas Dealer magazine, the TIADA website, and the association’s industry newsletters.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Branding
- Develop and oversee marketing strategies for annual membership campaigns, association events, and all TIADA products, services, and programs.
- Manage branding and messaging consistency across all platforms.
Communications, Writing & Content Management
- Serve as Editor of Texas Dealer magazine, overseeing content development, writing, and production.
- Write, edit, and manage content for TIADA’s industry e-newsletter, mass communications, and chapter newsletters.
- Maintain and update association websites with relevant, timely, and engaging content.
- Oversee all social media platforms, ensuring regular, informative, and compelling content that aligns with TIADA’s mission.
- Develop press releases, blog articles, and other communications to support advocacy efforts, industry updates, and member resources.
- Ensure editorial consistency and adherence to TIADA’s brand voice across all content.
- Strategic & Administrative Responsibilities
- Operate within the established budget and contribute to the development of the annual communications budget.
- Represent TIADA professionally at industry events, maintaining strong relationships with members and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with staff and leadership to support TIADA’s mission and objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, OR at least four years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in both digital and print marketing strategies.
- Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Creative Suites applications.
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms for an organization.

Location: Austin, TX (No relocation package)
