Communications Coordinator
Reports to President & CEO
Standard Working Hours: 5 days/week plus additional hours as necessary
Non-Exempt Employee; Benefits Package: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401-K
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· At least 3 years' experience in the area of marketing, web design and general communications.
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Strong writing, editing and proofing skills
· Ability to produce engaging publication story content
· Experience in social media management
· Graphic design skills and working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Word Press, and various social media content creation apps. Comfortable with learning new computer software and willingness to learn through hands-on use and self-study.
· Ability to handle and prioritize multiple complex tasks within a deadline and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Event coordination and promotion experience
· Self-starter
· Demonstrated ability to function as a “team player”
Communications:
Implement a comprehensive communications strategy to support The Blues Foundation’s programs, activities, and special events
· Establish editorial calendar to support messaging across all communications channels
· Manage website updates, new page creation, membership portals, and full website presence
· Coordinate and direct social media to enhance visibility and present timely messaging while adhering to brand consistency
· Support special events through comprehensive communications strategies that include website blogs, newsletters, e-blasts, focused/targeted asks, and direct mailings.
· Report social media and website analytics on a monthly basis to leadership
· Coordinate, design, and schedule membership communications strategy
· Work with publicists and media to build brand awareness
· Oversee digital advertising sales for website and newsletter
· Create partnerships with photographers, writers, and journalists to ensure large archive of files
· Serve as liaison for advertising and branding management
Special Events:
· Coordinate development of special event program books and all ancillary collateral such as media kits, signs, banners, ads, and merchandise
· Oversee print and digital advertising sales and sponsorship fulfilment to the satisfaction of supports and partners
· Coordinate signature graphics and other design elements for all organization collateral to ensure brand identity
· Engage, recruit, and manage volunteer photographers to provide appropriate coverage of program events
