Retro Report is seeking a summer audience engagement intern who will use and expand the skills they've learned in their audience engagement and marketing classes to grow new and existing audiences for the organization. This is an internship for academic credit. The intern is expected to work from our newsroom in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
Retro Report's primary audience of interest is secondary and higher education teachers. The intern will help the audience engagement team refine its strategy and tactics through research, and by helping with social media campaign ideas, newsletter articles and at a Council of Educator Summit in July. The intern will work under the supervision of Retro Report's Senior Audience Engagement Manager and alongside the education team on projects that may include but are not limited to:
- Researching Retro Report’s offerings and comparing them with other platforms through feature-by-feature comparisons
- Experimenting with AI to create quizzes and other interactive tools
- Exploring platforms including Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teachers to see if they are compatible with Retro Report’s goals and mission
- Working with the Senior Audience Engagement Manager on Retro Report’s YouTube strategy
- Conducting research for outreach and additional partnerships
