Marketing Manager, Time Out Market, Union Square
About the Role:
Time Out Market is a global food and cultural market leveraging the editorial curation of Time Out to bring the best of the city together under one roof: its best chefs, restaurants, bars, and cultural experiences. We are seeking a Marketing Manager to enhance our brand presence, drive footfall, revenue and brand awareness, and ensure a seamless, exciting experience for our customers and partners. We are looking for a dynamic and creative Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives across all platforms. This role will be crucial in managing marketing campaigns, public relations efforts, social media, coordinating events, activations and entertainment, and maintaining strong relationships with our concessionaires. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and culture and have a proven track record of success across the following key responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop – supported by HQ team – and implement integrated marketing strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and drive increased visitor traffic and brand loyalty.
- Draft, implement and execute the local marketing plan and strategy.
- Manage all aspects of public relations, including coordination of press releases and relations with media, influencers, and other industry leaders post opening. Act as the main point of contact with the local PR agency and manage all day-to-day tasks and communications. Pre-opening timeframe working with the larger Time Out Market HQ team and Time Out NYC.
- Manage Union Square TOM social media presence, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and additional channels that may be deemed relevant. Create and publish engaging content tailored to our unique audiences. Working either in house, with a third party agency or with the Time Out Media team (budget dependent).
- Plan and coordinate weekly, monthly and seasonal entertainment and events schedules that enhance the visitor experience and promote the Market’s vibrant atmosphere. Thereby creating brand awareness (PR), extra covers; and an increase in topline revenue. Work closely with artists, performers, and other cultural entities and Time Out Media teams on ideation.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with all chefs and concessionaires to ensure they are aligned with the Market’s standards and goals. Act as the primary marketing liaison to support their promotional activities and enhance their presence within the Market.
- Oversee all third party review platforms e.g. Google My Business, TripAdvisor, Yelp etc.
- Manage the Time Out Market website creating and managing website content, ensuring it is always correct, looks great and always up to date.
- Ensure that all marketing and promotional materials are in line with our brand guidelines and identity including assisting in the creation and editing of promotional material.
- Work with the General Manager to create activations and promotions to drive topline sales. From team ideation through to implementation of marketing assets.
- Create and manage the content for newsletters working with the CRM Team – minimum of one newsletter to be sent per month KPI.
- Develop on brand, fresh and exciting content for the Market’s digital screens working closely with the Time Out design and media teams. Manage and update screen content on a weekly basis.
- Work very closely with the Time Out Media team on Market content, brand collaborations and networking opportunities.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and events using predefined KPIs.
- Proactively seek out and research potential partnerships whilst maintaining and nurturing strong relationships with all current and potential partners, especially with chefs and concessionaires, ensuring we are always on the pulse and keep our pipeline fresh.
- Utilise data, trends and customer feedback to inform future campaigns and improve the visitor experience.
- Support incident / crisis responses – supported by our team – ensuring that the brand is safeguarded.
- Work with Time Out Market HQ on CRM flows, customer promotions and communications.
- Attend and be present onsite for key events, major activations and client-facing introductions and meetings.
- Work closely with the Events Team to support on developing any marketing materials they may require.
- Ensure any customer-facing booking platforms and guest communications are accurate and reflect the Time Out Market brand.
- Coordinate, book and oversee all photo and video shoots for the Market both pre-opening and post-opening.
- Responsible for the monthly marketing report for the Market.
- Budget control - monitor and track all marketing spend in line with the budget and have a good understanding of topline budget and EBITDA. Manage the marketing budget ensuring all expenditure aligns with the overall strategy and delivers strong ROI.
- Define clear, measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Market, review them on an ongoing basis to measure marketing effectiveness, ensuring the business is on track and performing to its goal.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in marketing management, preferably in hospitality, retail, or entertainment sectors.
- Demonstrable experience in managing marketing campaigns, PR initiatives, and brand activations across diverse geographies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage social media platforms and craft engaging content.
- Experience in event planning and management.
- Ability to work effectively across different geographies, cultures, and teams.
- Strong networking capabilities with media, PR agencies, and market stakeholders.
