Role Purpose
Responsible for supporting the day-to-day production, publishing, and maintenance of DanHarris.com.
The ideal candidate is passionate about Dan’s specific brand and message, digital content strategy, content curation, and community engagement. They have extraordinarily high attention to detail and organizational skill, as well as a proven track record of producing high-quality work in a fast-paced media environment.
Experience Requirement
Candidates should come to the role with 2+ years of experience in a detail-oriented editing and/or production role in digital media for an established publication.
Location
All 10% Media employees are remote. Living in or around New York City and being willing to occasionally travel into Manhattan and/or north into the suburbs is a plus. (Transportation costs will be covered.)
Key Responsibilities
Content Production
- Helps Dan Harris and the Managing Editor, Substack to create and curate emails, posts, notes, chat prompts, thumbnails, and other forms of content. (This work will range from editing incoming posts to coming up with new ideas for posts, and will include varying levels of ownership depending on the type of content in question.)
- Conducts quality assurance of emails, posts, notes, chat prompts, thumbnails, and other forms of content.
- Uploads and publishes podcast episodes, newsletter emails, posts, notes, and chat prompts in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Works closely with Dan Harris, the Managing Editor, Substack, and the other teams within 10% Media to ensure smooth functioning and seamless collaboration on content creation.
- Is (or becomes) a genuine expert on Substack, and is ready and willing to build and incorporate knowledge of other potential tie-in platforms, such as Zoom, Discord, etc.

- Independently creates, and systematically think through, decision-making processes in order to anticipate potential issues and to pressure-test various solutions.
- Fully owns (and is accountable for) all details involved in assignments.
- Displays a strong facility for technical details and is generally both at ease and effective when it comes to back-end systems.
- Tracks and reports on progress accurately and proactively.

- Engages directly with online community members, answering questions and ensuring a positive experience.
Build and Maintain Excellent External Relationships
- Communicates clearly and kindly with outside collaborators (e.g., other prominent authors on Substack and their teams), representing Dan Harris and 10% Media well.
