This is an incredible opportunity for an art director to work full-time at Empower companies. The individual in this role will be responsible for helping elevate the two brands and their client’s work. This includes leading efforts for creating designs for printed marketing collateral, broadcast creative, online, digital, booth design, trade shows materials, and project management of these activities. Essential Functions
- Responsible for art direction and graphic design of all projects through from concept, design, production and completion.
- Solution oriented, hard worker who brings decisions to table that improve speed to market.
- Strong organization with the ability to execute multiple projects.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the creative team and studio on all creative projects.
- Ability to make creative recommendations and support with sound rationale.
- Be a brand champion for the brand identity standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Copywriter, Senior Designer and Creative Director on creative concepts and executions.
- Elevate design and creative understanding/knowledge of co-workers in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with studio to get projects executed in timely manner and on brand.
- Work closely with Account Directors and Traffic Managers to keep all projects on track.
- Advise stakeholders on all technical visual recommendations and/or issues.
- Proactive and doesn’t wait to be told what to do, with the ability to work well independently and as a team.
- Professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to observe and learn.
- Takes direction well and be able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated mastery of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, other Adobe Creative Suite programs, as well as emerging design and project management tools.
- Knowledge of social media graphics formats and best practices: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Knowledge of WordPress and HTML, PowerPoint presentations a plus.
- Efficiently manage projects through the internal systems and processes.
- Completion of other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Desire to look for areas where entire team can improve overall output and work efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising or related discipline.
- Fluent working knowledge of design programs i.e., Adobe
- 0-3 years of Experience in branding, print and web design, working within an in-house creative department or other creative team environment a plus.
- Mastered composition techniques (multiple elements and interactive pieces) in producing final pieces.
- Comprehensive photo-retouching and image development skills.
- Demonstrated complete understanding of:
- Typographic terms that identify type forms and the specifications required to refer to typographic settings.
- Page composition and style setup.
- Print production process and knowledge of production techniques.
- Web page and e-blast layout design and production a plus.
- Have a strong portfolio ready for review upon request.
- Effectively handle multiple assignments at one time.
- Manage challenging situations and difficult stakeholders.
- Be able to effectively oversee the work with studio artist and designers to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Mac platform, expert in Adobe Creative Suite with experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in Dreamweaver and Flash beneficial, but not required.

Base Salary Range
$57,000.00 - $78,300.00
The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
