Brief Description
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Write content for Forest Park Forever publications, internal communications and executive communications
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing team members to edit/proof digital and print materials including newsletter, website, social media
- Assist the Director of Communications and Marketing and senior leadership across all departments in preparation of formal remarks and presentations
- Assist the team’s media relations efforts, which may include media outreach and responding to press requests for information and images; interviews; and Park visits
- Partner with the team in managing Forest Park Forever’s digital and print assets and upholding brand standards
- Contribute to team production timelines and adherence to deadlines
- Provide support for Forest Park Forever special events
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years of experience in internal communications, marketing, journalism, and/or public relations
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strict attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work
- Experience writing and editing content for a variety of audiences and ability to follow style guide
- Ability to leverage visual communication media such as video and graphic design to achieve branding and communication goals
- Experience with social media platforms and their use for organizational communications campaigns, marketing and branding
- Experience with project management and/or project management tools (e.g. Asana, Basecamp, Slack)
- Interest in parks and greenspaces and their role in community wellbeing and health
- Ability to think strategically, prioritize multiple deadlines, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with or ability to learn PowerPoint and web content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Squarespace), social media publishing suites
- Flexibility to work occasional evening or weekends for select major Forest Park Forever events

Physical Work Requirements/Work Conditions
- Constantly operates computers and other office equipment.
- Routinely works in indoor office environment.
- Occasionally traverse uneven park terrain during events and to better understand spaces maintained by Forest Park Forever.
