Job Title: Digital Content Editor

Location: 77046, hybrid schedule (must be available to be physically present at office 1-2 days per week)

Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 per year; based on experience

Position Summary

The Digital Content Editor will work with all digital content, including website, social media, sponsored content, and e-newsletters. This position will report to the Editor-in-Chief of World Oil and will develop and distribute content to promote the brand. In addition, this position will require editing some articles for both the magazine and the website, as well as any other duties prescribed by the Editor-in-Chief.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Actively track, edit, and publish industry news from Bloomberg and other external sources on the brand’s website and other digital platforms.
Promote various digital articles through social media channels, with the primary goal of growing web traffic.
Manage posting of sponsored content for e-newsletters and websites in cooperation with advertising and marketing departments.
Interact and manage communities on X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Develop and distribute e-newsletters daily and produce special edition e-newsletters, as needed.
Collaborate and communicate with colleagues to ensure timeliness and consistent quality across all channels.
Understand the markets and objectives of GEI editorial brands to recognize synergistic opportunities and share timely content with fellow digital editors.
Develop original online content via enterprise reporting and/or expanded external coverage.
Assist with planning and editing of technical and trends-based articles, as needed, for both the website and magazine.
Track and report social media/website traffic/e-newsletter analytics.
Edit feature articles for World Oil, as assigned by the editor-in-chief.
Attend, and report on, industry conferences and exhibitions.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in production of digital media content.
Excellent writing, editing, SEO and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with CMS software, Umbraco, or similar. Must be fluent in MS Office.
Familiarity with basic HTML skills, able to manipulate existing email templates.
